...can he make it with the swing-away tire carrier modular? I might not always want it. Or what about a (cheaper) version with no tire carrier at all?

yes & yes.

he already completed a slick bumper for a P38 that is setup for dual swing aways. currently only one is installed which is setup for the spare. the second swing away is going to be added sometime in the future and be used for jerry cans, etc. he made it so that the swing away could easily be removed if it needed to be serviced or modified.

at this point each bumper is individually built so you can pretty much get it how you like it. once he figured out the design and construct, he whipped it out pretty quick. i had him add the hi-lift mount on mine. i was debating on having him go ahead and put a post for a second future swing away on the driver's side, but i figured the likelihood of me ever using it for a jerry can is minimal and it would just be over ****.

chad (the guy who designed and built my bumper) posted this on the texas rovers forum. thought i'd share it here and at LRRF for anyone that is interested. (btw, i have no financial interest in these bumpers. i'm just passing it on.)

Hey guys,
Just an FYI for the LR3-4 owners out there. I'm working on a group buy to help some people out. I've got five spots left to fill by Friday for LR3-4 rear bumpers with swing aways at $1800. Completion of the bumpers will be two weeks from Friday if it all comes together for these guys.

Shipping for non-locals is the buyers financial responsibility. Credit and debit transactions will be done through PayPal.

Damn I wish I got in on this.

Man-A-Fre just gave me their current pricing on the Kaymar rear bumper:

" The rear twin pivot bumper with RHS wheel carrier is $2480.
The LHS jerry can carrier is $729. No inventory currently in the USA until mid-late April.
Truck freight to a residence your (New York) zip code is $285 , To a commercial address $260"

$729 for the jerry can carrier? ARE THEY NUTS!

So, for the Kaymar rear bumper w/ tire carrier + jerry can carrier... I'm looking at: $3,494!!!

$3500 bucks for the full Kaymar set-up is NUTS IMHO... absolutely nuts. There's some serious price-gouging going on here. If you check the various LR3/Disco3 forums, you see people paying half of that.

cbboard, don't forget me when you're parting out. Cash-on-hand! ;)
