Hoping for a little help and guidance from those that have been around the block

1. Can't find satellite radio ESN number anywhere in my materials and can't get to the 'settings' button per the book for satellite radio because the "SAT" option is greyed out in the radio mode list. It is almost as if there is no satellite module there but my understanding was that the module is standard.

2. Garage door opener won't learn my garage door opener. Have never had problems programming multiple other cars and other touchpad remotes. The procedure in the book is kind of stupid. You are to press the learn button on the opener then within 30 seconds push, hold for 2 seconds and then release the button you want to program. This all makes sense but then you are supposed to repeat the push/hold/release sequence several times. Why? for how long?

3. Rear seat floormats are garbage. I've seen a nicer floor mat setup in a Kia. I probably should just get rubber set. Is there a better source than the dealer?

4. Ipod integration? I guess you need a proprietary cable? Is this a dealer only part? Is there any work around? Plugging the ipod into the USB port seems to do nothing.

1. that is weird for the satellite........i just press once for fm radio and press same button again for satellite mode, and then it will display the number for activation...ther is an infotainment software update that you may not have

2. your garage is most likely rolling code....have to do both steps in the manual, first with the garage remote......then do the repeat hold of button for 2 seconds each if i remember....must press the learn button on the garage opener as well in the second phase .....

4. ipod is proprietary cable from dealer, you czn just drag any mp3 format songes you have onto s usb thumb and it will play those, it won't play mp4a itunes format files from the usb...

Sat is available with HSE and above packages. If you have the base model, you don't get sat radio. I think the same is true for the iPod. No HSE, no iPod. Thumb drive still works with base model.

I'm getting an HSE soon. Do I need to order the cable for the iPod from the dealer, or is this something I can purchase somewhere online? Also, what's the cost for the cable?

Cable is included in the package. Not sure of the cost to replace it.

I have the regular HSE (non-Lux) and it didn't come with the vehicle. When I asked about it when I purchased the car the salesman said, " You can order it through our parts department." Not sure why it's not included, but I guess it saves them costs. It didn't bother me though because they threw in a brand new cargo mat for free.

Nonetheless, I personally would have included it because these days it's more of a commoditized need, versus something you'd have to pay extra for. I would have also included a Nav screen cleaning cloth to clean finger prints off the screen (like you have for your eyeglasses) and I would have included it with a the Land Rover logo on it. That would make for great brand marketing, it's cheap, and it would surprise the customer and make them feel special.

You'd be surprised at how many customers, not just Land Rover customers, but many other car brands, who complain on the Web about the Nav screens getting dirty from finger prints. BTW, I use an eyeglass cleaning cloth to clean the Nav screen and it works great.

Cable is included in what package? I have the HSE package and no cable was included. The port is there inside the armrest, but not the cable. It is my understanding that this is a extra cost accessory.

BTW - I figured out the garage opener deal. I tried it again with the LR4 inside the garage rather than sitting in the driveway and the procedure worked as expected. It is a rolling code device and I suppose that when you press the learn button on the opener unit the signal it sends has no where near the range that the car sends back. Therefore the car had to be much closer to the opener during programming.

Yes, it is an HSE but it does act as if the XM module is not there.
