Recently purchased a certified 2008 LR3 with 40,000 miles. Wrote to LR to replace the steering and the warpped air bag cover, but they denied the claim saying it is normal wear.

Will a range rover sport steering fit LR3 and where can a find one (used) for a reasonable price? Any place near NY. Thanks.

Try a different dealer. Mine replaced it for curling on the corners

I had both replaced under original warranty, as did many others. It should not be considered normal for these items to wear out at 40K miles (although they are both common issues on the LR3)

The fourth dealership I tried was more than happy to replace the wheel. Of course I had to drive 100 miles, but they get my business now. F*ck the other ones. The really incredibly stupid part is that each of them said they had to check with their regional LR representative - but all 4 dealerships have the same rep. And you might as well forget about LR corporate. It's as if it's their mission statement is "We'll do whatever it takes to get you to buy a Lexus"

There is more to it then that. Technically the steering wheel and airbag cover is only covered by the original 12k mile/1 year trim warranty. The dealers with higher warranty rates are scrutinized by corp and cannot get those to slide through. The dealers with less warranty claims can send em through without anyone looking. (I forget who told me this but I believe it was a dealer service manager or tech). Back to the original question yes a RRS wheel will fit. If you are going to go to the trouble of locating one yourself consider upgrading to the RRS heated steering wheel. I believe the only other component required to change is the clock spring...
