LR3 Air Suspension Problem! Help!

Hi guys,

I have a 09 LR3 that the left rear air suspension does not seem to be inflating. The vehicle droops to that corner no matter what suspension mode its in. In addition you can clearly hear the pump continuously running. I did use soap water and check the complete bag as well as lines from distribution valve to bag and cannot find ANY leaks. Any help as to what the problem could be would be really appreciated.

Maybe a bad rear valve block or even height sensor? Do you have a GAP IIDT?

I've got a similar problem, right rear drops all the way down, the mechanic said he found no leaks at all and the code indicates (according to him) a lack of pressure in the compressor.
He also mentioned that the valve block stays jammed after turning off the vehicle.
I am on my way to the stealership to get a second opinion on this mysterious issue.

Alright Jeff so if your suspension doesn't raise your valve is probably not working, otherwise you'll hear the noise of the air leaking from the bag.

Tbh I am getting sick of this suspension, one more fault and I'll change it for a fixed coil one, I would recommend you the same hahaha.

The EAS is worth having, if you use/need its features off-road...

I go offroad at least once a week, sometimes 3 times per week so I use it quite a load I too thought the EAS was worth having until an air bag had a massive leak in the middle of nowhere and I had to drive back to the city for 3 hours smashing against the rocks.
A fixed coil one with a 2.5 inch lift will suffice for me.

I think a leaking air bag is probably a one-off deal. In other words it wouldn't or shouldn't be a recurring issue. Having the cross-link valves and good articulation are worth it. I had an air bag fail while on the trail as well. It wasn't leaking, it was just toast. Raising the EAS and pulling fuses worked for me to get it home.

I had leaking problem in the cold weather (<40F). Every morning in the winter it would drop >1". Every winter for the last couple years, I would wear out a compressor. Two dealerships could not find the leak but were always happy to replace compressors and both recommended possibly replacing the front air struts.

I have read that it is possible for the bags and the valve block to leak back into the system - so no tell-tale bubbles. I personally replaced the front air valve block first since that is easier and cheaper than Struts. Sinking problem solved!

I agree that even with the occasional trouble, the EAS is worth it too me for off-roading and boat towing. Your needs maybe different. Someday maybe someone will come out with a coil lift (and suspension bits) to fit 35" tires and by then my vehicle will depreciate itself into more dedicated trail rig; that day Ill happily say good bye to the EAS.

yep, 3 times per week I am still studying uni so I have a load of free time. The downside is that being a student is not really profitable hahahah so whenever something fails $$$ fixing it is an absolute pain.
