My 08' rover has very lose steering. When at highway speeds the truck will follow every rut in the road and if it hits a bump it will sway around the road.

-lower arms have been replaced.
- tie rods inner and outer replaced.
- all swaybar parts replaced.
-new tires tried.
- alignment performed

Any suggestions on what to try next?

How many miles, what are your tires... where are you located?

The "steering resistance" can be programmed through the computer, it may also be possible that it was changed by the previous owner. Normally it should give you a fair amount of resistance, not like driving a Lexus.

There is a lower steering joint that develops some play in it. It doesn't sound like your problem though. That particular problem you describe is usually bushings. I can tell you when I decided to refurbish my suspension, I replaced the front lower arms, front upper arms, and the rear upper and lower bushings (should have done the whole arm). I did the ARB bushings at the same time.

At the same time, I rebuilt the air struts, and replaced the dampers. CV joints, and all wheel bearings, new EBC rotors and brakes.

After all that it required a height calibration and an alignment.

The end result, is it rides as good or better than new..

Feel free to PM me with your e-mail address if I can help.

I'm not dismissing your symptoms but I think following ruts in the road at highway speed is normal.
