I know the LR3 has a rock crawl mode, but...

You could do those trails no problem. Just take along someone with more experience and the patience to spot you, and trust them. You'll surprise yourself at how much you can get over easily.

Bean, you would be surprised what you can do in an LR3. These guys are right. You can hang with the jeeps with just a little practice and experience. No need to turn around next time. Your local club is the best option to gain experience with a spotter. Have fun!

Nice sliders Mr. Johnson.

Beantmt, I am remiss, I forgot the most important part of my response to you initually. Kudo's to you man! Thanks for taking your LR3 off road! Way too many people only get a fraction of the value of their monthly payment out of their LR3's because they never expose them to their natual habitat. It's awesome that you've ventured forth, despite the naysayers with you. That takes fortitude, and I appreciate it! It is out hope that you will be encouraged by our responses, and keep wheeling your LR3. Prove the naysayers wrong my friend! There are few things more satisfying that being somewhere along a ******** trail having a bunch of Jeeper's roll up, look dumbfounded, and ask how you got there. I love that feeling.
