I need to replace both the front and rear sending units. I have dropped the tank, but need help figuring out how to remove the hoses from the fuel pump. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Richard

a couple of pdf's

Towards the middle to bottom of the link below, there is a 6 page and 10 page pdf related to the fuel system.

Before you take anything apart, I suggest you print them off.

Why do you think the problem is solved by replacing the fuel pump?

I ask as there is a fuse / relay that powers same. A bad relay and no fuel so to speak.

The relay, R8, is located in the engine compartment fuse box. Just remove it and switch with a similar one in there to test.

The fuel sending units were bad. In order to replace the back one I had to remove the fuel pump. I was having problems disconnecting one of the lines of the fuel tank cap. It looks like it uses a special fuel line disconnect tool. I was able to get it off with a pair of tweezers. It was a pain in the butt to replace the front sending unit, but it is possible. Now the fuel gauge works perfectly.

Thanks for the reply

appreciate the update

We always appreciate an update to a problem; particularly if the concern is resolved.

Any fuel tank issue is not a fun fix as just getting inside is a real pain.

Those sending units are some sort of no moving parts, field sensing device, again there is nothing obvious wrong - black art stuff.
