Freelander1 unknown spring

Hi, after a major overhaul of my Freelander KV6 Engine I still have a spring left that I haven't a cloue of where it will fit... The car is running well so the function of it can't be vital. Anyone out there who recognize this spring? (See Picture)

Looks simular to a transmission or shift actuator tension spring that is broken...
