Do the seats on a new LR4 soften a bit?

I guess if it gets too bad on our long drives (I'll be doing a handful of 10-12 hour drives this Summer) I could get a cushion and sit on it. ;-) And to think that just 4 years ago I did an 8-hour road bike ride on a very hard saddle. Sheez.

I am sure it will take some time to get the seat adjusted. The seat in my MDX is soft but it doesn't angle/tilt forward enough to be "flat" and offset the fact that you sink into the back part of the seat. For me this creates pressure under the hamstrings and on long drives it is uncomfortable. And the whole thing makes me feel like I am laying back rather than sitting up straight. The other seating comfort issue I have with the MDX which will go away with the LR4 is the room for the left leg to extend and stretch. With the MDX I have to weave my foot between the emergency brake and the normal brake pedal. Not good. I really like that space in the LR4.

@epiclr4, great to hear that it is working out for you on the long drives! I'll be doing a lot of saddle time in this thing this Summer! Also, if the LR4 seats are more "shaped" then maybe I need to start re-shaping my rear end to better fit the seat! ;-)

We have a Tahoe and I think the leather is crappy, but the seats are very comfortable. I love my LR4 seats and the Lux leather is beautiful quality, but I have to agree that they are rather firm. In fact, I have also noticed my butt and back kind of hurt on long rides. I know this sounds like I am an old woman, but I have actually sat on a pillow a few times. Hahaha.

My thoughts exactly. I love the LR4 and it is superior to the Tahoe in almost every way except for that one, but I'm starting to get worried about that one as I'm heading on a 900 mile one way trip in a few weeks. May have to take a pillow or foam cushion or something and give it a try.

Truck is working out great so far except for the last week that it has been in the shop. I am staying positive that it will be fixed by Tuesday though as I would really like to have it back next week. The seats are doing fine but long drives to warmer climates with no AC is kind of miserable.
