Hey everyone,

Has anyone had their black outer moldings replaced under warranty?

Mine is starting to deteriorate, probably because of the hot California sun. It's losing color and forming white patches around the edges and doesn't look good.

I tried to do a search on this but couldn't find anything. Apologies in advance if this topic has already been covered.

Thanks!

...can I correctly assume you've tried using a plastic polish?

That is one of few things I have not been happy with. Mine has faded terribly from the start and the dealer acts as is that is just something that you have with LR3s and discos. I also noticed that the prices to replace the fender flares skyrocketed shortly after the 05s came out. Think I may have seen a post about that here.:hmpf:

My LR3 is just a month old and I thought they looked faded already. I put a coat of 303 Aerospace protectant on them and they look good again.

How often do you apply the protectant?

Well, just once on my month-old LR3 so far. I have used it for years, especially on interior and exterior plastic on my 2002 Audi allroad. Unlike Armor All, it won't disolve your dashboard or turn black plastic brown. I used it on all the inside plastic on the LR3 as well, such as the plastic door panels. I bet I'll need to apply it to exterior plastic about once a month.

PaulLR3- What is your method of application of the 303 protectant?

I just spray it onto a cotton cloth and wipe it on. On the big areas, such as a dashboard or door panels, use a circular motion for even application. The hard part is finding where to buy 303 Protectant. I have only bought it at a boating supply store.
