they actually have a black badge now that overlays the green one. im not keen on overlay even though it would be much easier. its $18 on roverconnection

The black oval is supposed to designate a special projects vehicle from the MFR. My truck has them for example...

I have a Buckingham Blue LR3, and the black emblem looks much better in contrast. Also, I replaced my center caps, not only because the green ones were peeling, but they also look way better as well. I got them off ebay from a seller in the UK for $25. He's got more as well. Took about 1.5 weeks to ship, but very well worth it.
