I'm been through 2 pairs for the Goodyear 19" Wrangler HP's and am totally dissapointed in the ride and especially the wear.

I've read the posts about replacement tires and have narrowed it down to the Michelin Synchro's and the Pirelli Scorpion Zero.

Can someone help me make the decision here?

I'm really looking for a much longer tread life as i barely got 20k miles out of the Goodyear's. We do a lot of highway family miles back and forth to our cabin.

I'd even consider a new set of 18" rims to widen my tire selection. HSE tire selection with 19" rims is a joke......

Thanks in advance

I suffered through a pair of the OEM Goodyears, replaced them at 18K with a set of Synchro 4X4s (19"). I love them. Far less road noise, far superior traction both on and off road. The tires have ~15K miles on them and there is no noticable tread wear. I would suggest aligning all four tires.

only thing i don't like is all the grease NTB leaves behind every time they have the car! :p

I got the Michelin Synchros earlier this summer when I could no longer stand the noise. It was a world of difference and well worth the money.

The only thing I'm uncertain about is the traction in snow. I noticed some of the reviews on tirerack said they weren't that good in snow, but others on the forum have not had any problems.

Synchrones Rock! And they are pretty versative offroad as well, Thought I would roll them off the rims on a tough spot, but the sidewall is pretty strong. Great ride, and good traction on road. Work pretty well in the snow, but ice is a little dicey. However huge difference over the GoodGodYears.....

I see that Goodyear makes a 20" Silent Armor Tire, but not a 19". What is up with that?

Toyo Tires

The Goodyear tires are terrible. Just replaced my 2005 LR3 Goodyear's with Toyo and the ride and handling is so much better. Also, told my sales rep about doing this and he laughed because he had just done the same thing on his 2006 LR3. He agreed the Toyo's are much much better.
