I definitely think this is a great accessory to add to the emergency kit but I am really looking for a 2nd battery replacement. If I had to choose today I think I would go with the ArkPak but would wire in an Anderson Plug to the back of the vehicle.

Granted I am still researching everything, I know David paves the way for quite a few of us so I wanted to plant some ideas and see what he would come up with!:albertein
I really like the portability of the ArkPak. I have had it out of the vehicle to air up my tires, took it with me camping for power, and even had it at when I needed to power tools. It does take up more room than a dedicated second battery, but I think offers a lot of versatility. I think your idea of wiring in an Anderson plug is awesome and will work out nicely.

Keep us posted what you decide.

Finlay, I am surprised you don't have the cargo barrier (dog guard) yet. With all the heavy crap I carry, I wouldn't put my kids in the 2nd row without one. Its not just a safety thing though, its also great for when you need to stack things or attach straps around things and hook onto it.

Most of the time I have all my crap in one of these http://www.amazon.com/Plano-Molding...sbs_hg_13?ie=UTF8&refRID=1CXZ89QFDTYRY69D02HG

The only thing I will say though is, it does take about 5 minutes to install or take out. not too bad, but does take a little effort, but its secure once in place.

I love those cases and use my Pelicans like that as well.

That dog guard is next on my list, as I do strap everything down typically, but it's a great idea for the reasons you mentioned.

Where did you get it?

I just bent over at the dealer and ordered it.
Yikes. I'll look on eBay, though may just end up doing the same since I do get a bit of a discount at one dealership since they are sponsors for our LR club.
