Derek, Did you do the transmission swap or did a shop do it?
I'm wondering if the engine was allowed to tilt back too far and damage something in removal ? or something wasn't hooked up correctly. If you did the work yourself, was there anything you might have overlooked?
Are there any engine codes ?

Reason why I said it might be a crank sensor is due to my neighbor broke his doing the same as you, but he had a 2001 disco.

You were right, the tip of the cpk sensor was snapped off.
