2014 Land Rover Range Rover HSE - USED A GOOD CAR?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping all of you that know these cars can share some insight. I'm considering buying a Used 2014 Land Rover Range Rover HSE, V6 Supercharged, with 44k miles on it. I have never had a Land Rover before. I've been reading up and researching this car, but I think it would be very valuable to hear what anyone who has this vehicle or is experienced with these cars has to say. Below is the a link to the dealer listing. I really appreciate any input/advice! Lastly, if you were to buy it, would you buy an extended warranty and if so from Land Rover or a 3rd party?

I think that price is WAY too high, even if it is a dealer. I find that the "finance advance" price is a good deal to shoot for in most cases, but even $45,000 at a dealer would be ok if you like the car. Their "our price is so great it's no haggle" stuff is baloney.

As for the car itself, all Land Rovers suffer from issues, they are expensive to keep up, but are cut and dry more fun and refined to drive than most anything else. There is something about British refinement that is different than everywhere else and if you appreciate it, it is worth the expense.

Like all new models, generally year 3 is where a lot of fixes are finally implemented. If you can find a 2015.5 you will find the tech part (InControl Apps) was finally updated if you need/want that stuff. You can find the 2015.5 updates here if any are important to you:

The extended warranty stuff is really a personal decision - it depends on how long you think you may keep the RR, how many miles you drive, and how adverse you are to a repair if one comes up. Some people would rather pay $200/mo upfront to forget about it and other would rather save $200/mo in an account and pay the $3000 bill when it inevitably comes due. Overall modern Land Rovers can hit 200,000 miles no problem if maintenance is kept up, but there will be some expenses along the way (perhaps a differential, water pumps, suspension parts, etc).

What catman says about the 3-year model fixes, is sort of in line with what I've been hearing that 2014-2015 models had issues with engines that were all fixed for 2016 models. So probably it's a good idea looking for a 2015.5 or newer.

I have a 2014 RR HSE V-8 S/C, and have had no problems with it at all. Best car I have ever driven. I got the CPO extended warranty, but haven't used it yet.
