The main issue I encountered after installation was low volume when using the Aux connection. The volume was so low that I considered removing the unit and returning it for a refund. Note that you don't actually connect the unit to the Aux port on the rear of the center console; instead, it's connected through the new wiring harness that plugs into the back of the infotainment screen. However, you still need to switch the input mode on the factory stereo to Aux, at least according to the instructions that came with the unit.

I later discovered that the unit can operate via Bluetooth, but you need to enable it in the settings menu as shown in post #10 of this thread. Now, my phone connects to the car's Bluetooth system ("Range Rover Sport"), and the CarPlay unit activates and plays at a normal volume.

Do guy have it setup through auxiliary or Bluetooth? I had those issues with auxiliary but not with Bluetooth
Aux. I think when using BT it takes a long time (like a couple minutes) to resolve with the wireless CarPlay. It’s a pain in the ass to use each time. I can never remember the exactly why I don’t use it that way, but then I try it and it’s gets all messed up. I think it’s only 13-16s that have this problem bc they have factory BT?

I’ll try this again today after work.

Ok tried the Bluetooth last night and this morning. Phone calls work, audio works… Siri, message reading, alerts (maps, etc) do not play. I changed the output on my iPhone to Land Rover instead of CarPlay, but using these changes it back to CarPlay, I get no audio, and then have to manually switch back to Land Rover for music to resume.
