Thanks for the link to the contest synopsis. I wonder why they didn't test the 2010 LR4 for last year. I don't think there were enough changes from 2010 to 2011 to warrant it being a new vehichle or much improved.

I read that the updates are only for the 2011 LR4s. I wonder if they will release updates for the 2010 LR4s to improve the NAV system.

Speaking of 2011s, a couple of Update Prior to Sale notices I posted on a RRS forum also affect early build LR4s here in North America, particularly if you recently took delivery of one:

Quality Enhancement Program:
http://rangerovers.net/forum/download/file.php?id=6059

Navigation Map Updates and Routing Improvements:
http://rangerovers.net/forum/download/file.php?id=6060

Navigation on the move... Finally.

This is a great post and great news because the nav definetely needs an update. I have a 2010 LR4 that i took delivery on Nov 1 2009. Am i reading this correctly that it only affects vehicles delivered Nov 1 2010 and after?

I just had my car at the dealer and they said that my car does not qualify for these updates. I took delivery of my 2011 LR4 in October, but the VIN is within the ranges shown. They claim that my car is not shown as "eligible in DDW", which is some database that Land Rover keeps track of. He said it's possible that my car will show eligible at some point (they may approve cars in phases), but he's not sure.

He said it's also possible that I may already have the update (though I doubt it). Anyone know how to check if the update has been done? I'd really like to get that NAV update. Thanks.

If you have a torque wrench you could try seeing if your windsheild wipers are torqued to 13lbs ft. That might be one step...

I have no idea what "torqued to 13lbs ft" means (maybe my husband would know - he's way smarter than me). I was thinking more along the lines of clicking some buttons on my NAV to see if I can get a version number or something. Or if there was a feature added to NAV, I can see if I have it.

the nav update bulletin shows a 2009 to 2010 version update....my recently delivered lr4 has only the 2009 version .......it appears my dealer neglected to do this prior to sale
