My 2003 disco has several error codes:

P1319 Land Rover Misfire with Low/Empty Fuel Drive cycle C: Signal out of range - above maximum

P0305 Generic Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected

P0705 Generic Transmission Range Sensor Circuit (PRNDL Input)

P1590 Land Rover Rough road signal implausible Drive cycle A: Signal implausible

It is in addition overheatting, the misfire i have know about for some time but the dealer told me I could wait a bit however it would not run as smooth. But now the overheatting has started. Does anyone know if these codes would cause overheating?

Any insight is appreciated.

I can't believe a dealer (I presume a LR dealer) has asked you to wait on an overheating LR... this is crazy... take it somewhere and have it checked before you have to buy a new engine.

First, how many miles on your truck, has the 60K along with plug wires been done yet?
Do not drive it for any reason if it is over heating, new engines are very expensive.
If you are in the habit of running your fuel to empty, break that habit today, new fuel pumps are not cheap either and that is the quickest way to burn up the pump, 1319 code.
1590 shows that either your ABS light are on or come and go, which is it?
Get back to us.

My 2003 disco has several error codes:

P1319 Land Rover Misfire with Low/Empty Fuel Drive cycle C: Signal out of range - above maximum……. Misfire detected with low fuel level.
1: Fuel pressure at rail?
2: Is it steady? Does it pulse?
3: Pressure is?
4: fuel level?
5: on fuel injected cars with in tank fuel pumps, it is a good practice to
never let the tank get below ¼ tank level. Running on a low tank
excessively will promote premature fuel pump failure.

P0305 Generic Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected. Ok this code says you are too rich on cylinder # 5 and are at catalyst damaging levels.
1: Hows your air filter look? Is maf dirty?
2: when was your last tune up, and what brands?
3: Are you using, ( loosing ), any coolant?
4: does the exhaust smell different, and if so, please describe.

P0705 Generic Transmission Range Sensor Circuit (PRNDL Input)

This may be nothing, but refers to the XYZ switch on the side of your transmission. For now I would ignore this till you have the engine issues solved first, then reset all codes and see what pops back up. The XYZ switch on the side of the transmission is the selector indicator switch, usually this light will go on if rapid changing from forward to reverse is harshly executed. Or is bad, loose or poorly aligned. There is an alignment tool for installation, or an ohm meter works too.

P1590 Land Rover Rough road signal implausible Drive cycle A: Signal implausible
Hardware is ok, but your slabs/ ecu is sending an error code.
Usually a VSS = vehicle speed sensor or tied into the engine misfire.
When on rough roads, the slabs ecu sends a signal to the engine processor that the terrain is rough, and not the engine running rough, and prevents the engine ecu from adjusting for misfires or knock sensor inputs. This system works half assed sort of speak, because a backfire will send the same code, and you could have your vehicle idling in the garage, not on a rough road. For now disregard this code until the others are satisfied and fixed, clear all codes and see if this one returns. It’s a fair possibility that this misfire set this code.

What can I say for service managers? Ours in Thousand oaks California, told my wife and I that the noises coming from the engine were normal, and nothing was wrong with it, The following week, I rebuilt the engine New top flanged liners, collapsed lifter, broken oil pump outer gear in two pieces and a burnt valve, Yeah, nothing wrong with it……………

You know the difference between a lawyer, a used car salesman, service manager and a rattlesnake lying in the middle of the road is ?

There are skid marks in front of the rattlesnake.

Best wishes..................
