Just hit 150k and both diffs and transfer case needs new fluid. Any specific fluid I should use or just the regular Land Rover fluid. Also could someone link me a pump tool to pump the diff fluid into the diff?

On a side note, anyone know what size socket will crank bolt, need to do an intake decarb but I don’t want to pull the skid plate till I do the whole job.

I use these Royal Purples for the front diff and xfer case, and the AC Delco fluid for the HD rear diff

I used Royal purple for diffs (non hd) and the synchromax in the transfer with no ill effects. I would have supported our local deal but $80CDN for 1L of transfer case fluid is beyond stupid.

Remember manufacturers tender oil/fluids out to suppliers and go with the CHEAPEST that meets their spec. That way they can pad the margin even more. Do you really think a dealer is paying anywhere near $80? Likely $10.

The markup is from the manufacturer. I was in a rush and bought a quart of transmission fluid from the dealer. Parts counter told me they get charged $80 for it.

Had a CJR dealership been nearby I'd have gone there. A ZF 8 speed is a ZF 8 speed, they're all going to use the same fluid.

I used Redline when I changed my diff fluids.

Don’t waste your time or money on the hand held fluid transfer pumps, too cumbersome IMO. Use something like this instead…

Good luck!
