Anyone experienced this situation. Truck was completely warmed up - running errands around town. Stopped for lunch, got back in truck 30 min later and the engine went into it's cold start mode ~1100 RPM, but temp gauge was reading zero (odd). Truck never came out of it's high idle mode so I started home (~2 miles), fan continued at high speed and at all stops the truck continued at high idle.

Additionally, and even more concerning, the truck appeared to be in some sort of limp home mode as it had very little power. Temp gauge barely started to move by the time I got home. There was no CEK light.

After turning the truck off for 10 minutes, restarted - everything normal. Pull the codes : P0116 (Temp Ckt).

Truck has 75K miles.

Local indy says it's not a symptom they typically see with a t-stat/or temp-sensor.

A faulty diode in the alternator can allow electrical signals through that cause all kinds of whacky things to happen. When I had mine in this summer for replacement another LR3 was on the lift getting its replaced as well - their fan was running full-speed all the time, causing execessively low engine temps, all due to a bad diode. You might have it checked out just to be sure. It's not uncommon for them to fail at some point.
