    Well crap!

My first three were oem replacements. I'm going to try a GMB from Korea on this go round. Another note, is that a company called Uro now makes an aluminum replacement for the oil cooler outlet pipe that runs between the water pump and oil cooler. A failure of the plastic version was...

    Well crap!

Lulz. And some of us are just gluttons for it. Just bought a Rangie (used) for the wife. And @Fuji4, if you are getting that many miles out of your WP's, be grateful. Currently tearing mine down for a slew of work at 91K, and the impetus was, of course, the water pump leaking. This will be...

Question for Those Who Have Done Timing Chains - Cam Adjusters

Thanks. I'm strongly considering changing them, because I know it would haunt me if I didn't and they failed another 10,000 miles down the road. I'm actually considering just trailering the truck the 3 miles or so to my indy, having him yank the entire engine and bringing back the engine on a...

djkaosone to the Courtesy Phone - Oil Catch Cans

Thanks. I'm going to go poke around my intake now and see if the driver's side bank is clean like yours. I just assumed they both needed it after the amount of oil it puddled on my garage floor. Will report back later.

djkaosone to the Courtesy Phone - Oil Catch Cans

Thanks for the photo's. I had assumed you would need two, as their is a line plumbed from the valve cover to the intake on both banks? Also, where is the smaller output line on your setup headed?

Question for Those Who Have Done Timing Chains - Cam Adjusters

I'm currently acquiring parts to dig into this while my truck is semi-disassembled anyway. For those who have done the job, or had it done. Were your camshaft adjusters/phasers replaced? I'm wondering if it is worth the extra $1,200.00 or so to replace these while the engine is dismantled. I...

    LR4 vs Defender

Haha. Wife and I went in to a dealer looking for a car for her late last week. Looked at a Defender and then she left with a low mile used Range Rover. Probably better for her use case, honestly. I can only imagine trying to wheel the thing would be akin to wheeling a Suburban, but I had...

    Tpms and 18’

The 2010 though 2013 system doesn't give you an actual reading, just a yellow idiot light. Not worth it to me when swapping wheels and tires for the limited amount of data given. Just easier to deactivate it and monitor pressure myself.

    LR4 vs Defender

I haven't seen or heard if anyone locally who has them yet.. With a front and rear locker though, I'm NEEDING them...lol...:)

    LR4 vs Defender

I agree with the above. The LR4 does so many things well that it is difficult to make direct comparisons. A late model Landcruiser seems most direct to me, but good luck getting those seats to fold flat. I have modded mine for my use, and at this point, my only real complaint is the inability...

2012 LR4 Whining in steering wheel (inside the cabin)

Mine does this as well. Really don't think it is the TSB issue has it sounds like it is coming from directly behind the airbag. I've tried shooting some blue back there with no results. I wouldn't mind pulling the airbag, but I have just sat on it waiting to see if anyone ever posts about...

djkaosone to the Courtesy Phone - Oil Catch Cans

@djkaosone I recall you installing two catch cans when you did your timing chains. Are you still happy with the results? Did you have to fabricate your own bracket? Any special fittings needed for the plumbing? Any other issues? I'm strongly considering doing this before I put mine back...

My Day for Dumb Questions-Engine Rotation Direction

Come to think of it, I have seen that diagram in the manual as well. Just one of those things you need to be correct. Thanks for the reply.

My Day for Dumb Questions-Engine Rotation Direction

When standing in front of the vehicle looking at the engine, the direction of rotation is clockwise, correct? Want to double check before I start spinning it to close the valves for walnut blasting, as spinning it backwards can cause timing to skip.

    LR4 vs Defender

I agree with the above post. I saw my first one in person today. No way I would consider it a viable replacement for the LR4.

    Another Defender hint?

Had to swing by a dealer today to pick up a bolt for a project I have going, and got to see my first one in person. I was not impressed. My honest first thought was that it reminded me of a slightly roided up Ford Flex. I did like the interior, however. Dealer was asking $92.5 for their example.

My Rover Ate A Bolt - Anyone Help With Part Number or Specs???

yep, not a hard job, I just fat fingered the bolt. Ran by the dealer at lunch and they had one for 5 bucks. Overpriced, of course, but it is in hand. As a side bonus, I got to take a look at a new Defender for the first time.

Traxide D3-DU dual battery kit on 2013 LR4 Help Please..

I constructed my own using threaded rod and a some universal bracket. For whatever reason, the factory one wouludn't clear the oversized battery I stuffed in there. Several thousand miles and no issues with my "custom" solution.

My Rover Ate A Bolt - Anyone Help With Part Number or Specs???

The monster that lives in the bottom of my Rover that feeds on loose hardware has consumed one of the four torx screws that secures the rear crossover pipe (heater manifold) to the cylinder heads. I am flat unable to find either a part number or specs on these so I can order in a replacement...

    Air Suspension

Hmmm, hadn't thought of a relay. Will have to wait a bit though as mine just started puking coolant on the driveway again. 40,000M since the last water pump, so that is the prime suspect. About to pull the manifold to do both crossovers, blast the valves and replace the waterpump and belts...

    Air Suspension

Couldn't agree more. The charging system is my single largest disappointment on mine. Tried numerous workarounds and nothing but occasionally pulling the sensor has worked without illuminating a be light. What sucks is that monitoring function is purportedly disabled on the factory armored...
