    Budget dual battery system fridge/cooler

I was looking into a DBS and Fridge as we do some longer trips and would be nice to have that option. The traxide battery system looks great and the ARB fridges look good too, as described in several other posts. But it can easily add up to well over $1000. This is my alternative for around $200...

Trailer programming with GAP IID tool

I had the exact same question, I just picked a couple and turned them on, I need to investigate further though. Our utility trailer is recognized (blinking trailer turn sign on dash and reverse proximity disabled) but Our horse trailer isn't recognized and is annoying to reverse alarming and all...

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

The part I was trying to think of is called the heater manifold LR077042. Just wondering if anyone has had this fail on their LR4. Seems common in the Jaguar but the LR tech told me not so much in LR4. I hope he's right.

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

I saw you said it disintegrated, did you replace the crossover in the rear of the engine right in front of the firewall? My understanding is there are 2, the one in front that we switched out and the one in back that looks to be a bigger challenge to change. I didnt, but I saw some jaguar owners...

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

How many miles on your 2010 when this failed? Did you replace the back/rear crossover?

    Lower control arm question

Nice! I probably would have done the same...I'm still looking for a local rover shop I can develop trust in.

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

Thanks. Its at the bottom of the first picture I should have taken a close up but you could flex the plastic and the seam would open up 1mm or so. It was leaking above #3 at the junction corner

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

LR4 back on road:) the local dealer LR thousand oaks had all the parts I needed thankfully. Intake manifold wasn't too bad, needed to remove ten bolts, fuel crossover line and a few other vacuum hoses etc. Replaced the 8 little silicone gaskets on manifold. The culprit was definitely the water...

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

Well my fears were confirmed. It looks to be the water outlet/front crossover. The new water pump and back pipe look fine with no signs of leaking. But the plastic crossover right above the water pump has coolant marks where the joint of the plastic is. Part# is lr018275. Has anyone taken off...

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

Replaced water pump myself, everything seemed normal the last couple months no leaks etc. I only was able to look at it for 5 minutes or so due to our toddlers running around, but belts still intact descent tension on serpentine, water pump pulley didn't wobble like my previous failing one, no...

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

2011 LR4 70k 3k miles ago replaced failing Water pump with URO from AB(rear oil cooler pipe and o rings as well) Yesterday driving for 6 hours already and still 2 hours from home. Made quick stop and heavy acceleration up hill on ramp in 100 degree weather. 30 seconds later heard a screeching...

    Lower control arm question

I did it similar to Atlantic British video. I drilled out the rubber around until I could get my reciprocating saw in to cut through the sleeve. The first one I did too much and scuffed up my control arm. The sleeves are pretty thin. Made a couple slots then just took a screw driver and hammered...

    Lower control arm question

I did both the front and rear of the front lower control arm as well as the ball joint, (might as well when it's all off), definetely subjective with the stifness, it seemed a little on the harsh side right after I installed them, however 5k miles later I don't even notice nor think it is too...

    Camping Trailer

Good information. We are looking to get some sort of hybrid. What braking system do these trailers usually have? We have surge on our boat and electric on my wife's horse trailer (obviously dangerous but the electric got disconnected for a while without us knowing and it still stopped fine), LR4...

    Lower control arm question

I put the Orange ones in from Atlantic British ( I believe they are standard firmness) drastic ride difference noted when switching from the worn out original ones, much firmer can feel terrain/road surface a lot more, Not sure how they would compare to regular new replacements or to a softer...

    CEL: Barometric Pressure Sensor

My MAP sensor fault code started up again after months of nothing. I pulled it out and there is a little corrosion around it. Ordered a new one, when you cleaned the throttle body did you unbolt it or just open the throttle valve and use a toothbrush? Any issues since then? Thanks Stuart

    Lower control arm question

If you have space to keep them I would say go for it. I just replaced mine with the poly bushings. It actually wasn't too bad of a job. I soaked the bolts with liquid wrench everyday for a week before I started after reading horror stories of trying to get them out. I live in southern California...

    AMK EAS noisy vibrations

The acoustic case should come in a few days, I'm going to put some rubber between the bracket and the frame and try getting a little more dampening. I'll double check the all the bolts. Where the compressor attaches to the bracket there are rubber grommets with little coil springs and the 3...

    AMK EAS noisy vibrations

I purchased it from Miessler automotive they make their own bracket for the AMK compressor like Arnott and others do. I ordered the case/acoustic enclosure haven't installed yet. I hope that takes care of the noise but there is still the vibration issue. I think the mounting hardware - the...

    AMK EAS noisy vibrations

I have a 2011 LR4, started having Amber light issues etc. Did the usual diagnostic tests and determined it was the compressor (hitachi) switched out for China replica of hitachi worked great for 3 days then red light ( I think the exhaust valve got stuck, as it wouldn't lower) returned that for...

    Suspension Fault..Newbie

I have the icarsoft LRII. It will read land rover specific faults like suspension codes and can reset service lights $180. Can't reprogram suspension though. Not sure what level ($460 - $2300)of GAP tool you need for that. Up until now my tool has been fine.

    Suspension Fault..Newbie

Can the GAP tool reprogram/recalibrate the suspension, as needed when switching from hitachi to AMK? If so is it difficult? I have a cheap icarsoft LRII. That resets oil service and read my suspension code (slow to fill reservoir) but I don't think it can reprogram. Interface is pretty basic on...

    Roof Rail Differences

2011 lr4 I put on long ones and immediately regretted it. Our nice quiet highway ride no more. Significant wind noise. Changed out for short and back to normal. Use surf rack, Thule cargo container/bin no problem. The long only offer one more notch forward than short which I would have never...
