Question about the factory hitch reciever

Mine is very finicky. It definitely will click into position where I can turn key and remove but sometimes I have to jiggle it. Also sometimes I can't remove it, the green handle won't pull and turn with out being wiggled around. I know this sounds horrible when planning on towing boat/trailer...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Did you guys notice the condition of the magnets in this britpart kit? Mine had a couple chips out of the magnet don't think it will be a big deal but kind of surprised there wasn't a protective coating or something.

    Coolant leak

When my pump failed there was an obvious wobble on the pulley. With engine off i would just check if the bearing has play at least you'll have an idea if that is the only problem.

    Coolant leak

Hopefully your warranty will cover it.. If it doesn't not that big of a deal to change water pump, but I wouldn't assume your crossover pipe is ok similar situation happened to me about a year ago.. http://www.landroverworld.org/threads/heavy-coolant-leak-failure.28600/ If your above 75k...

Add 1 Quart of Oil after 6000 miles

I'd be somewhat concerned. Maybe start by changing the oil and see how much you get out at least you could rule out a bad oil level sensor. How many miles are on your vehicle? Any obvious blue exhaust smoke? Maybe a bad pcv valve

    Medic Kit?

I second what the other guys say. I have a similar set up but have added several other items. I think it boils down to what you are comfortable treating and what are the likely medical issues you might run into. I carry a little extra, I would suggest adding chewable aspirin, nitroglycerin...

    Intake valve cleaning techniques

Good video explanation. The picture above was after a couple cans of BG 44k. I didn't understand the cleaning process at that time. I think the trick I was looking for was in the video from BG I'm going to disconnect the sensors while running then take off intake tubing so I can spray...

    Intake valve cleaning techniques

Exactly, I've seen a lot more spray products out there as this issue is only going to increase with manufacturers using direct injection

    Intake valve cleaning techniques

this was from back in September when I had manifold off. I got most of the build up out. No codes or performance issues just want to prevent problems.

    Intake valve cleaning techniques

Short of taking off the intake manifold and scrubbing the ports, do any of you guys use other intake valve cleaners? If so which ones and where do you add it in? When I changed my crossover pipe I had my intake manifold off and realized the amount of build up MY2011already had. Didn't know...

Prep for Timing Chain Guides Work

Has anyone heard how difficult this job truly is? I don't have CPO on MY2011 with 75k everything seems fine now but eventually I'd like to swap out the chain/tensioner/guides. Tool/ Kits are out there for about $150. I've done other vehicles in the past. I'm aware the consequences of done...

    Weight distribution hitch

Mpinco I saw that your trailer is about 450lbs tongue weight, do you notice the front end feeling lighter? The rhino looks great, a little pricey, I wish I would have got that originally over the OEM ( which seems questionable for higher loads) ill probably get the curt receiver and figure out...

    Weight distribution hitch

Thanks I saw that thread a while ago but several new pages since my last visit. So still no verdict than, except that a lot of others are using weight distribution systems.

    Weight distribution hitch

Looking for a little more insight on weight distribution hitch and the LR4. If anyone has a good resource please let me know. What I have read: -the manual says never do it -people subjectively say it's bad with air suspension -others have alluded to the problem being the oem hitch could snap...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Mike, They could have at least given you and this thread a little credit in the video!:) I used the ZF lifeguard but I am inclined to use the febi bilstein or any other equivalent on next change. $10/L seems reasonable. I use a lot of Amsoil products for other applications maybe I'll even try...

    Suspension, air compressor question

I had the same issue with the Dorman compressor I think the valve gets stuck. My guess it's a knockoff of the Dunlop pump. Completely overhauled my original a few times had the Dorman in and out several times. A total of about 6 months messing with it. Returned the Dorman, finally just replaced...

    Water Pump leak / TSB?

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Are you planning on doing the ecu multiplug/valve body sleeve/ # TZV500010G? Supposedly they can leak, mine had no sign of leaking but I replaced it anyways. On rsw solutions video it looks like no biggie but if you notice he has a large pry bar, and it is equally difficult to get new one in...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

My LR4 didn't have a cover either maybe just an LR3 thing like the video showed. I wouldn't be too concerned yours looks relatively clean. I'm curious if you can get to all the pan bolts, I didn't look or think about checking until I had exhaust and mount undone already.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Not sure if your planning on removing the engine mount but if you are make sure you have about 3ft of extension on your 1/2 inch drive, I bought one prior to this project after watching the video and it was a life saver.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Yeah I believe it was just 8mm hex but you'll want one with a drive attachment to fit your torque wrench. (vs a regular L shaped one) forgot what the suggested torque was but not much.

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

I just changed mine out a few months ago in my driveway and yes it was a pain but manageable. My 2011 lr4 was a little different than video didn't have to remove entire exhaust and o2 sensors stayed on. I can't visualize how you would get this new pan in with the limited clearance. Some of the...
