    2011 LR4 - MPG getting worst

Well back to subject. I don't think fuel treatment or crankcase cleaner will do anything for our direct injection intake valves. BG induction cleaner makes a good product/ service but you need to take off the intake manifold and put in some elbow grease, or take it to A shop. Picture of mine...

    2011 LR4 - MPG getting worst

Long time debate - will never be answered to all satisfaction Some say including dealers that the oil from the filter will dislodge and clog/fowl sensors, K&N obviously states that is not the case and is safe. I use them and I am in the middle, sure if you put way too much oil on it obviously...

    2011 LR4 - MPG getting worst

Interested to see as well. The TB will gunk up regardless of K&N or stock, I have K&N as well I know a lot of people are against them, I haven't noticed any benefits in the LR4 as I have with other cars but I don't think it will hurt. I Like the crc products for MAF cleaner and the intake...

    Water Pump

Yes.. Depending on your skill not too bad. Also look at crossover pipe different from the oil cooler pipe at back as its a common failure as well. That one requires a little more wrenching. Keep searching but There is diy info on this subject. Consider special tool to remove the fan clutch, or...

What do you think, new bushings needed?

Thanks for heads up. I ended up spraying with silicone as I do with most non metal stuff. Thankfully that one is ok. I guess petroleum based products can cause rapid break down of poly. I ended up replacing the links with the MOOG problem solver and my problem went away. Seems good quality in...

This LR4 Drives Great in the SAND!

Love all the beach pictures. Yes our cars are awesome. We're just on a little camping trip mammoth lakes, CA. with our trailer towed it up to 8,400 feet elevation no problem. Camp ground is about two miles in on sand/soft gravel. Got a little nervous towing up hill on sand but minimal slippage...

    Upper control arm

Has anyone switched out front upper control arm? I just replaced hubs, tie rods, sway bar links/bush, and LCA reworked about 15k miles ago. Just installed new tires and alignment. Extremely quiet now but now I notice a small front end noise at low to mid speed with slight change in pavement. Off...

What do you think, new bushings needed?

Which sway bar end links did you get? Not happy with the ones I purchased.

What do you think, new bushings needed?

Yeah I think I would have been better off with OEM for sway bar seemed like a tighter fit, as far as control arm, time will tell I have about 15k on poly and so far so good but stiffer ride.

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

Just take your time, study the orientation of cooler pipe and how it fits in. I know some people don't but I used a super thin layer of aviation cement on the gaskets. Sounds like mine, pump was bad but also crossover pipe, I would just double check the crossover pipe is ok as it is a known...

What do you think, new bushings needed?

Replaced my sway bar bushings over the weekend with orange polybush. Mine weren't as bad as Umberto's, rookie mistake though and I forgot to grease them...squeak squeak. Will try to spray with silicone or lithium grease before I remove again. Heads up very tight space on driver side upper...

    Heavy coolant leak / failure

Are you sure it is the water pump failing? My ÜRO is about a year old with 15k miles on it. Yeah I concur a lot of aftermarket parts are questionable but let's be honest was the OEM that much better?

    Suspension Fault - C1A36-01

Interested to see what it is. I know when I was going through mine I had a few other ideas like valve blocks, intake filter, etc. I remember watching a couple diagnostic videos story Wilson did on YouTube

    IID Tool question

I was sitting in third row seat, bike rack on and wife was reversing thought I was going to go deaf. Tempted to cut some wires! Self level - I think it's just in relation to other wheels and not gravity. One of the reasons I bought the IID tool was for this feature. Although I still haven't...

    coolant leaking in LR4

part is at bottom of picture, it was leaking at lower left corner of picture where pipe goes into motor, you can see the puddles of coolant on mine.

    coolant leaking in LR4

Part # LR018275 hard to visualize with intake manifold in place. After I refilled my coolant form water pump replacement mine took a while to equalize and get all air out. It helped by filling from vent plug but still needed to add coolant for a few days until stabilized running front and rear...

    coolant leaking in LR4

Seems like crossover pipe is almost as bad as pump, same issue on mine would go down slowly...until it totally blew. Hard to diagnose until major leak but you might see puddles of coolant under throttle body. http://www.landroverworld.org/threads/heavy-coolant-leak-failure.28600/

    Suspension Fault - C1A36-01

I can check later today it is in there somewhere as I used it to reprogram mine when I switched to amk. All I know is in my experience with the Hitachi that it was very frustrating, I rebuild everything possible part on it. Had it working on the bench with good pressures etc, but would still...

    Suspension Fault - C1A36-01

IID tool can do it, I'm sure others can as well. If you don't have a tool maybe just verify that when they flashed your car they did it with the AMK and not Hitachi programming. Either way sounds like the compressor is faulty I hope they last a lot longer than 50k but they do get worked. Is it...

    Suspension Fault - C1A36-01

What year is your lr4? I think factory started putting AMK around MY12. If it was switched out to AMK check that it has AMK reprogramming. I have read about AMK compressors but overall much better than Hitachi

    Brake problem help requested

For front I agree, but rear I don't believe they sell as assembly and you will need a press as bearing is a press fit to hub. If the bearing is bad enough to make brakes hit rotor it should be easy to diagnos. My rear wheel was bad enough that the emergency shoes where hitting inside of...

    Brake problem help requested

This happen to me with driver side rear, I had a significant verical (12 o'clock 6 o'clock) wobble and sure enough it was the hub bearing. Kind of a pita http://www.landroverworld.org/threads/rear-wheel-bearing-hub-replacement.27958/

    Suspension Fault - C1A36-01

I assume you have the Hitachi pump, I had the notorious same issue and must of had it in and out of the car 10 times I rebuilt every possible part on it but would still get faults. I finally caved and upgraded to AMK and no issues since. If you do go with AMK just buy the OEM with housing. I...
