Rear Wiper Issue

LR4+Expedition Rack+... skis?
Get a low profile box like Skiguard. Hardly notice it’s up there and very streamlined unlike most of the normal options. Four pairs of skis inside a car and poles is a serious hazard if you get in an accident or even an emergency braking situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Low coolant. No leak?
Had several coolant leaks which ultimately resulted in replacing most of the system, including cross over pipe, water pump, etc even though I never had any noticeable leaks / drips. Had another small leak again this time from the water pump gasket. Hopefully fixes it for a while. Sent from... -

Thanks all. I only use 91, but here in Colorado it is the equivalent of 93 adjusted for lower air density. The sound does largely go away once warm though it is there in the background. Any thoughts? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Apple Car Play Kit
Yes, CarPlay for now is wired only. I had it retrofitted on a Mercedes and love it, even plugged in. It now supports Waze, which is huge for me, as well as Spotify. Plugging in initially was a PITA but doesn't bother me now. My wife now wants it on the LR and sent me the link to this 3rd party... -

Michilin, Goodyear or Nokian? (19")

Cold weather vibration?
Almost certainly tires getting flat spots if there is no snow in the wheels. You can increase the pressure in your tires to mitigate it somewhat. -

Winter Washing Options?
I go to the coin op place with a bucket. Spray it down to get most of the heavy grime off (don't use the brush), then fill the bucket with the wand - don't pull the trigger though! That uses the first set of quarters, then I work quick around the car. One mitt for the top half and an older one... -

Running Winter/Snow tires in relatively warmer temperature areas
Shouldn't be more than $20-25/corner to mount and balance. Otherwise the tire price sounds good. I've never bothered to road force balance SUV tires and haven't ha an issue. Sometimes with Nokian's snow tires I've seen tires that have a heavy spot. Good tire techs will make sure the weights are... -

Extended Warranty
Same here, although my 3 needed quite a lot before 50k, too. I've gone without after the CPO period expired and am about breakeven now at ~105k. On the 4, we had a few issues early on, but mostly routine maintenance since. -

Mike, you've done better than average with that mileage, and yes, it blows. I do like the performance of the brakes, loads of power with little fade, even in the mountains. Also quiet for the most part. We've got two (an LR3 and LR4) and it seems like we are constantly changing pads or rotors... -

In the US, with most extended warranties I am aware of, you would get a pro-rated refund if your car was totaled. I've been calling around and will share the quotes I get. -
