    OEM hitch receiver, or aftermarket?

From what I remember the normal looking one is the upgraded newer version. The funny looking one with the under bent tongue is the older version. I actually have the older version. I was told the newer one is more reliable. I would say get the newer one cause it probably doesn’t effect...

    OEM hitch receiver, or aftermarket?

I do leave my oem on year round but take it off every 6 months to clean it with WD40. It does start to stick and the key system isn’t the best. I do this for a bike rack. As far as capacity I have towed a toy hauler weighing 6000 lbs without issue. It hasn’t broke yet, paid 400 on eBay 5 years...

    Los Angeles Mechanic/Shop Recommendation?

When I was there Absolute on Hoover was good. They would sell older discos but did service on modern stuff. Absolute on Hoover (323) 805-7000 https://goo.gl/maps/RgZdhJBTYNoGqrqb9

    Voyager Rack Ladder Nightmare

I originally was going to install one these when I lived in California and it would have probably been ok then. I am now on the east coast and would never do it for this very reason. Sorry, I would probably sand it down, apply some rust bonding agent, prime and paint.

    I did a thing

Alright I’m going to check in with you at the end of the summer. I may give the small panel a try to keep me topped off during camping season.

    I did a thing

Also I was thinking of trying pulse tech out if anyone has any experience. I noticed the cheap Amazon ones say to disconnect or you could fry them in ignition. These come with a controller box that claims to remove sulfate and do not need to be disconnected for ignition...

    I did a thing

Scott, How is this unit holding up? Have you had any flex or has it come loose at all? Any shorts or bad voltage? I see they are around $600 for the total system. I do a lot of camping and could definitely use this and it seems like a lot less work than a double battery system. Thanks!

LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?

I forgot to reply to this. At JLR Thousand Oaks they would pull the pan bolt. I did have it serviced once at Fresno but I do not know if they pulled it. The other 2 times it’s been changed I’ve done it.

LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?

An update on my LR4 I did the oil with the mighty vac and got a chance to look a least one of the chains. Everything in there looked very clean with no brown burn. I tugged on the chain with a tool and it seemed pretty taught. I got all 8 liters out so to this day I’m not sure what that sound...

LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?

The levels have always been ok on the cluster. That said I did do a lot of towing cross country, was hard on the trans for sure through the mountains last summer. Might have eaten some oil. I will do a change and park it on an incline nose up to see if I hear it again. If anything yes I...

LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?

I have a question regarding oil level. So I have a 2013 I picked up in 2015 with about 42k on it. I don’t drive it a lot but when I do I take it on ridiculous excursions such as Death Valley and camp in it for weeks at a time, so it has seen some harsh use. It has maybe 55k on it now after 5...

    largest tire with no lift

I find the compomotives ugly so I decided to stick with the factory wheels. Yes I know 18s are better but I made it through Death Valley with summer contis so at this point these tires are a massive upgrade anyway.

    largest tire with no lift

I can confirm the G2‘s fit without any rub at 265 50 20. A little knobby at low speed but not much highway drone.

    largest tire with no lift

FYI I know I am reviving an old thread, but tirebuyer.com has the Nitto G2's for $167.77 after rebate, I purchased 4 just now, will post once they're on with a review.
