    Your experience about LR4 V8 5.0

We have 90k miles on our 2011. We've used it to tow a travel trailer and love to take it off road. We've changed the oil every 5k miles and the timing chain has yet to make any noise and is still tight. It's been a great motor for us.

    LR4 vs Defender

I can't sell the 4 until the Defender is here, and probably not until I have the defender outfitted with the winch, lift, tires, racks, etc. But I'll post it for sale as soon as the Defender is ready to go. It's been an incredible truck and I was extremely meticulous about maintenance.

    It's here, now what?

I submitted my order today for a new Defender HSE. As soon as it arrives, it will replace our LR4 that has served us so well for 9 1/2 years

    LR4 vs Defender

I pulled the trigger and submitted my order for a new Defender HSE today. Next month will be our LR4's final trip to the San Juan mountains.

    LR4 vs Defender

We do actively off-road and I agree with your statement. It's certainly been the best car we've owned

    LR4 vs Defender

That's my plan. I can remember when I purchased my LR4 back in 2011 I received the same question, and it served well for the last 9+ years. This video also lets me know how it handles off road

    LR4 vs Defender

The 130 will have the same wheelbase as the 110, but a longer rear overhang to allow for more rear cargo space and a larger 3rd row. LR has not confirmed it's coming to the US yet nor when it would be launched.

    It's here, now what?

Shall I keep you posted after we get our Defender? First we have to make up our mind on how to spec it out. After keeping the LR4 for 10 years, we want to get it right

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I'm on my second set of K02s, with 0 blow outs. We absolutely love the tire as it's good on and off road

    Showoff Your LR4

LR4 over time. I love this car

    It's here, now what?

I love my LR4, but after driving the Defender I think I might make the switch. The cargo space and 3rd row seat is significantly smaller, but the first 2 rows feel significantly larger and more comfortable. It is the quietest truck I've ever driven, but still feels unmistakably like a Rover...

    LR4 vs Defender

We've owned our LR4 for 9 years now, longer than any other car. We still absolutely love the vehicle, and were not impressed when the new Disco was released. Monday we're going to test drive the new Defender. Has anyone else compared the LR4 to the Defender? If so what are your thoughts?

3K oil change intervals for our LR4s?

I had long been a believer in the 3k oil change, but that was with conventional oils that were more prone to sludge engines. I do think the only reason your owners manual recommends 1 year or 15k miles is for marketing reasons. With full synthetic Castrol every 5k seems to work great.

Tell an LR4 guy how to love that Defender rear door?

Black Bear is one of my favorites, You're exactly right, in Colorado the narrow width and tight turning radius make the LR4 amazing on the switchbacks!

Question for LR4 owners that switched to 18" wheels

I have 18" compomotives with 265/65 18 K02's on a 2011 LR4 and even when I lost a shock and it lowered to the bump stops the car was still driveable. We've been happy with this combination on street and dirt for several years

Are existing TPMS sensors compatible with Compomotive wheels?

I used the tpms sensors from the factory wheels in the Compomotives without issue

    Axle CV Joint Failure

I thought it was! Was really impressed the truck was able to finish climbing the hill without having to winch

    Axle CV Joint Failure

The center and rear diff were obviously locked, The truck finished climbing the hill with 3 wheel drive. I positioned the axle where I thought it would do the least damage and slowly drove to a place a tow truck could get to it

    Axle CV Joint Failure

It doesn't appear to be a common failure with or without the rods. Do you know anyone who has had the same failure?

    Axle CV Joint Failure

IMG_0703 by DonMitsu posted Jul 29, 2017 at 9:37 AM This was my left front half shaft. You can see where the cv joint closest to the diff just pulled apart. I'm still unsure what caused the failure nor how to prevent going forward

    Axle CV Joint Failure

Thanks for the reply, I just replaced the control arms about 10,000 miles ago because the bushings had warn out. The rubber bushings in the diff mounts had gone bad and possibly caused the geometry to be off.

    Axle CV Joint Failure

I'm going to go ahead and replace the front diff, both front half shafts, and all bushings just to make sure all is good. And I ordered the bump stops with limiting straps as an extra precaution. It's been a great truck for over 6 years, but We're about to go up in the mountains and I don't...

    Axle CV Joint Failure

The kit specifically states in the description: "With the bump-stop spacers, you gain additional down travel and may run the risk of over flexing the axles of your Land Rover. When this happens, you run a higher chance of binding the CV joints beyond their capability, which can cause failure...

    Axle CV Joint Failure

This weekend I was climbing a hill that wasn't particularly difficult when I dropped my left front axle. It completely pulled out of the front diff. I do have Johnson Rods and 265/65R18 BFG All Terrain TA KO2 tires. I'm trying to get the vehicle repaired as quickly as possible and purchased...
