I need to buy tires in the next couple weeks too. Nokians in the lead at the moment. Simple tire has them for $178 at the moment, never used them before though.
Most factory tunes are pretty mild so there can still be gains in a custom tune even though boost can't be adjusted on SC. Some of the hp difference in the 340 -380 rating difference may very well be in a very mild tune on the 340 variants. Of course turbo cars really get the bast bang for the...
Yes, that doesn't sound fun. I'd prefer having a test vehicle on a dyno and the tuner there to dial it in live. Since there's no real data on these things, need to get some good baseline info. Do you know how they were able to tune the ECU? Using some Jaguar tuning software?
An ecu tune and new supercharger pulley is something I'll definitely be interested in doing when warranty is up. Hoping by then there's a local shop in philly that can do a dyno tune.
I don't get the hate for the rotary shift knob. First vehicle i've had with it and I like it, and i've had a lot of cars to compare. I find it's fast and easy to shift with it and don't really see any negatives.
There's a lot more to it then just deciding between a 12 or 2 10s. Driver selection and enclosure design are much more important. What type of music you listen to may help in deciding driver selection and enclosure. Also where do you want to put it and how much space are you willing to give...
So got the LR4 back today. Everything went fine with the free first maint and they did include free tire rotation. LRNA even called to make sure it all went as expected.
They also replaced the stop/start battery and "fixed" that function which had stopped. Hopefully this battery dies soon too.
Ill be doing the maint moving forward, I've just been lazy banking on this first one so I havent ordered oil change equipment or figured out best place to source oil yet. Plus we have a couple warranty items they need to check.
This is a follow up from another post, might be useful to others.

When we bought the LR4 nearly a year ago we were told by salesman 1st scheduled maint was free within 1 year or 15k miles. We also a few months later received the...
Do you know if your free service is dealer offered or from Land Rover? Im asking because we just called to schedule our 2016 LR4 first maintenance and were told 2016 model year did not get free first maintenance. When we purchased we were told it was free but now that seems to be a different story.
IDD tool wont do anything for you. There seem to be 2 popular tuners on the Jag boards that work on the scv6 engine. Either of them should be able to work on the LR4.
Looks like on the Jaguar boards they think its just a tune difference. The tuners claim 380hp or over improvement so thats probably all it is. Id be interested to see an actual dyno sheet from a customers car, but it's a believable difference...
I don't have an answer but could be as simple as a more aggressive ECU tune or a combo of tune and exhaust or tune and pulley. I'd guess a custom tune would net close to that difference. Might be able to find this info on the jaguar forums.
