    Easter Eggs

Right, rear windows not going down all the way is considered a child safety feature.

    Easter Eggs

Yes even my LR3 has this - it was designed for hooking up a trailer, allowing you to raise or lower the hitch to make it easier to connect/disconnect.

Where to buy a SIDE MIRROR backing?

My wife cracked her passeger side mirror on her 08 RR. The glass itself did not break so I was looking for the same thing, the shell on the back. In her case, the shell parts that were available were actually covers that glue on over the underlying plastic frame, and the underlying plastic...

That's because the movie studio shot it, all LR had to do was co-brand it.

How to know what exactly is covered under extended warranty ?

That link is not a US policy, it is possible the NA LR policy is written slightly different. If you purchased the warranty, you should have a copy that was given to you. Do you see the same language in it? Did you purchase the vehicle and warranty from this same dealer?

Whoa, great news! So they backed down off the 20/30k premium they were asking?

    Another Defender hint?

The headlight photo does not quite match the renderings, and I think that is a good thing. The renderings are not bad at all, but there is still something too animated (like the Defender) about the front end - reminds me of the Honda E in this case. First 60 Defenders are here and ready for...

    Hard Choices

We have an LR3 and RR as well and my wife keeps wanting a Jeep as a potential summer convertible replacement, but it's hard to justify the price these days. Even if they have made all the improvments with the JL, it is still a relatively "crude machine" when compared to Land Rovers. I think I...

    Another Defender hint?

"Defender is in production", although I think it probably has been for a little while now. Still there are few tidbits about the process at Nitra in this brief article: https://www.motoringresearch.com/car-news/land-rover-defender-enters-production/

    LR4 19” tire options!

Interesting in that this is a 32" tire (32.1 to be exact), so it clearly is for the new Defender, yet there has been no mention of a 19" wheel for the Defender yet, that I recall anyway. There is also an 18" version (255/70/18) which I suspect will be the stock tire for the 18" White Steel...

    touch sensitive turn signals

This does show up under the 2005 configuration files for the Gap Diagnostics IIDTool. Technically you can just turn them on, no part swapping needed. They were first standard in the US spec LR3 in 2007, but probably were part of the LR3 global software since launched in 2004. Body Control Yes...

    LR 4 Retired

Just replaced my fuel tank shield/pan and rear brake lines as the shield had rusted through and lines were shaky. This product was used to help in the future - might be worth a look for any of your Rovers! https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-heavy-duty-anti-rust-in-black.html

All Weather or Snow Tires ?

Those are 104 load range, why not choose the 265/60/18 ones at 110 load range? Oh, nevermind, I see you wanted narrower on purpose....

All Weather or Snow Tires ?

For winter tires, the Viking Contact 7's are available in 265/55/19 which would fit just fine. Supposedly they are top-rated in Europe and Continental just brought them over to the US for the first time this year...

Looks like we may get the stripped down commerical 90 at some point too, which would please those looking for the most bare-bones model to build up. https://www.motor1.com/news/381021/2020-land-rover-defender-90-commerical-us/

    Yokohama Geolander G015

Yes, my wife put them on her 08 RR and she loves them. She claims they are the best tire she has ever had on an SUV. She had the General Grabber HTS's on our old Disco, then the Grabber AT2's on our LR3, and then DuraTracs on her RR before putting these on at the beginning of this year. She...

    Factory Warranty Questions

I don't know what LR offers exactly, but it is on their website, so there must be a LR approved program: https://www.landroverusa.com/ownership/extended-warranty.html I know when I bought an FJ Cruiser back in 2010 the Toyota dealer told me the same thing, they don't have a Toyota plan. Then...

How many LR3 were made per day?

The earliest date of records on Tata's site is June 2008 where they recorded 3,193 sales of Discovery's (Globally). Chances are there were producing near the expected sales volume leading up to to that month...

    New Falken Tire - 255-55-19

I run the Wildpeak AT3W on my LR3 and they have been great so far (about 20k miles). These new ones look like very similar, just slightly softened, so I would imagine they would work about the same as the Continentals... AT3W AT Trail:

    Another Defender hint?

The D5 edition was an "SVX", so perhaps there may be another edition of the Defender that comes out that is "extra" offroad oriented where the SVR is obviously the racing edition, for lack of a better term. But I am not sure considering all the options already available for the Defender.
