Yeah, just thinking about it. I know that markedforged has a metal printer as I looked into doing car parts for Range Rover classics a couple of years ago as parts became scarce. It proved to be expensive. Hoping cost has come down or that Jay Leno will let me borrow his ;-).
I’d definitely do...
I had the same thought a few days ago! I had thought about seeing if markforged could 3D print an aluminum one...I’m guessing it’d be costly to make, but sub $500, it almost be worth it to me.
I’d say do it. Most of the time when the front pipe goes, it really goes. Mine went while at the shop (fortunately). They had it running and were checking other things. It was just pouring out of the engine. My tech said he sees it often and when it goes, it’s usually time for a new engine (if...
I just did a beach trip this fall to cape lookout! It was amazing. Would be glad to get up sometime and you’d be more than welcome to see/feel the control arm ride quality as well. My youngest son just started baseball season so my weekends are pretty much shot. Send me a pm and we can try to...
No offense taken. I feel like the poly was the best route for me for the very reason of ease of replacement. I don’t feel as though there was little to any ride sacrifice, but very much a personal opinion.
Possibly the vacuum pump on the front of the engine right near alternator...mine has a slight leak from the gasket.
Honestly, they do all the oil changes from the top of the engine with a vacuum line. Easiest oil change ever. They should not have had to get under the truck for anything. Not...
Looks like your PCV valve to me. That is what allows gasses built up in your crankcase to vent back into the intake. Inexpensive repair.

Shouldn’t take all day. I’d say probably 1.5 to 2 hours total. Watch the video once or twice to get your bearings. I had to just figure it out which took me a bit longer and still (including the videoing) I was in a total of about 3 hours.
Seems like a quality control problem with Compos. You guys just helped me make my purchase decision to the tuffant, especially Compo doesn’t stand behind their product. Premium brands are usually quick to make it right. Surprised by this.
You can tell him I was on the list to buy compos in a month or so...now will be going with the tuffant. I would never think a company like this would not stand behind their product.
Use and abuse is one thing, but to have total delamination and left out in the cold like that is unacceptable.
Technically the correct procedure. Either way should work ok. My way will require checking of coolant levels over about a weeks time (if there’s a LITTLE air trapped in the system it works it’s way out). A lot of air trapped is a problem, as you’ll develop hot spots in the engine (which is...
Start truck, run until fan comes on with heat (front and back) on high. Open bleed valves on both the reservoir and coolant pipe next to battery. Once coolant starts coming out of the valves, close them up.
Watch coolant level for a couple days. Refill expansion tank as level stabilizes and...
Easy fix. Sunroof drains clogged. Use a spool of weed eater line. YouTube it. Fixed mine in 5 minutes. Alternatively if you have a compressor you can use air to unclog it. I have not tried this method.
You’ll want to do a fluid
You should not have tensioner problem as they updated design in 2012. The tick tick tick, I can’t speak to. Mine is a 2010 and tensioners are good, motor does have a normal very slight ticking noise but I’m assured it is normal noise by the three different...
Now that’s pretty friggin cool! Could have been useful for both this job and my transmission pan swap. Would have been a time saver for sure on the transmission pan!
My understanding is ILand is not vin locked but is model locked LR3/4 though is one category. I own a gap iid but ILand seems like a viable alternative and is a bit less expensive.
The guys over at AB are hit or miss and I never get a response if I have a technical question. I mean never...so...
If I could double like this, I would! I’ve got 119k and still tight as can be (I’ve pressed the chain through the oil cap). Fingers crossed for the same luck! Oil changes every 5-7,500
