    Amber Suspension Fault

Houm_WA, I don't recall if you have changed out your compressor or what year model you have. FWIW, I have a similar problem, had the diagnostics done, and it was determined that the compressor is faulty. According to my tech, the OEM (at that time) compressors eventually fail, and are not...

    Diy changing ignition coils

Thanks, cmb6s and techboydino! That's the kind of feedback that I'm looking for!!!

    Diy changing ignition coils

cmb6s, to address your question, I'm considering replacing the ignition coils (FoMoCo part # 4744015) only. I don't consider this critical, as there are some other things that will be addressed first. I've had to replace three of them already, so my reasoning is to just get them all done at...

    Diy changing ignition coils

OK, any ideas on OEM, other than FoMoCo???

    Diy changing ignition coils

I saw these online, the price looks good, but---I'm suspicious about the claim of "OEM quality": :creep:

    Diy changing ignition coils

I tagged this question to a thread related to plug changes, but I didn't get a response. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Our 2006 LR3 has just over 100K miles, and I've already replaced the spark plugs, which were just shot! In addition, three of the ignition coils have gone bad...

    Replacing plugs

HOUM, I'm a bit confused about the tranny flush. I asked my tech about putting synthetic fluid in my tranny, and he didn't recommend it, saying that the manufacturer only recommends the 'standard' fluid. I didn't really press him on when to do a 'flush', but I'm not sure I have any way of...

    Replacing plugs

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread, as I was ready to start another related one. Our 2006 LR3 has just over 100K miles, and I've already replaced the spark plugs, which were just shot! In addition, three of the coil wires have gone bad, leading to poor performance (cylinders obviously...

Any liners or mats to protect beautiful factory LR mats from kids and Costco trips?

Interesting discussion! I had no idea that 'carpet mats' even existed! We've had what looks like very heavy duty rubber mats that look great! Maybe we'll have to get some carpet mats for those 'special occasions' when we haul around British royalty! Sorry, I couldn't resist!

    Air suspension issues

We normally keep it on the low setting for city driving. So no, it's not something that is noticeable. We're just not doing any off-roading at this time. But, we've been constantly getting warning lights and bells telling us that there are faults with the system. I'm concerned that this is...

    Air suspension issues

I can relate! I'm limited in most of the above mentioned areas, but I'd like to learn more, and be knowledgeable of the vehicle and the technology. I really would like to be able to address most things that are straightforward, if possible. Like you, I don't have a shop; just hand tools...

    Air suspension issues

Huom, That's great info to know. It makes a lot of sense! You're obviously very knowledgable about this system. The main thing that concerns me is the amount of time this will take, especially considering my lack of knowledge about this set-up. Although I'm an intelligent layman, and...

    Air suspension issues

Houm, We're not at all interested in eliminating the air suspension. I just think that it's a very valuable feature of the LR3. He was just offering an option that others have chosen. The specialist is someone that I trust, was referred to me by another Rover owner, and he's done work for...

    Air suspension issues

We've been having air suspension issues with lights and bells going off. We took it to our Rover specialist, he ran some diagnostics on it, and to make a long story short, found out that the compressor is not adequately filling the air bags. He said that there has been a history of these...

    Off roading upgrades

jaamrode, Nice pics! You have good fabrication skills! I wish I had the shop and that kind of know-how! Actually, I do have the full size spare (I've had to use it ), and it was an incredibly tight fit for the tire between the main support bars of the frame-mounted receiver. However...

    Off roading upgrades

Thanks, tlt! I'll give it a look. It has a full size spare that's tucked underneath, hence my desire to get a spare tire carrier in the future. Since this is my wife's DD, I've not spent too much time studying the technology, etc., on this vehicle. I'll be spending more time on this forum...

    Off roading upgrades

HD package? Other than using the VIN, is there any other way to find out if my (actually my wife's ) '06 LR3 HSE has the HD package?

    Off roading upgrades

jaamrode, I also like your ideas: --IID-Although it seems a bit pricey for the everyday, less than expert owner, the diagnostic/monitoring capabilities look impressive! How does it compare to the devices that my mechanic uses at his shop? --Custom receiver hitches front and rear-I had...

Throwing codes and rough idle + check engine light

I think I'll do that next. I did get the plugs changed out. They were shot. I don't know when they were last addressed. Changed out the crankshaft sensor, but the symptoms are mostly still there. If the SeaFoam in the throttle body doesn't work, it's off to the Authorized LR...

Throwing codes and rough idle + check engine light

From the research we've done, it looks like the 'crankshaft position sensor' is a prime suspect. It's a relatively inexpensive part, so I'll give that a shot and replace the spark plugs also. We'll see...

    Off roading upgrades

I'm more inclined to keep our LR3 pretty 'stealth' also. I'm not sure at this point, how much severe offloading we'll be doing with it, as my wife is not inclined to really put it through its' paces. But, it's good to know what's possible. At this point, I'd like to get the spare...

OK, are there any links to showing an install of an external tranny cooler? Is any modification of the tranny itself warranted?

    Off roading upgrades

What sort of upgrades are possible for upgrading for offroad use; i.e., spare tire bumper mounts, light bars, winches, bumpers, roof racks, etc.? Any vendors that are recommended?

    Towing concerns

I plan to use my 2006 LR3 LSE to tow a fairly light trailer (loaded with an 18' Bayliner and 125 Mercury). My concern is overheating any of the drivetrain. Here in N TX, the temps reach 100+ in the summer when we want to use the boat. I plan on connecting a ScanGuage II to the OBDII to monitor...

Throwing codes and rough idle + check engine light

My 2006 LR3 just started having a rough idle and poor performance + check engine light. I'm getting the following codes: P0303, P0316, P0300, P0305, per the folks at Auto Zone. Any educated guesses before I start throwing parts at it? :help:
