Actually its Gen 3 sorry...
This is the 2nd Gen that came with RR and LR3 -
This is the new 3rd Gen that was released some time after the initial LR4 -
The 3rd Gen has 770lbs tongue stamped on it.
I went with the OEM Gen4.
Land Rover stamped 770lbs on it with the redesign and thats what I'm gonna beleive. If I have an issue then you can all jump in on my class action case! :bandit:
Like others said... Find a good indy and have them use OEM quality parts.
I went with Textar pads rotors and sensor for the front, installed them myself and I think I was close to $200 potentially under.
I went directly in the middle right by the lower panel handle. I think it's the best spot for my driving style and size. I'm 6'2" with very long legs. If the unit was lower and horizontal it would interfere with either the obdII port or on the right hand side my leg. I rarely if ever hit my leg...
Yes. Don't tell them that but you should be fine. The interstate was in my 11 LR4 as well when I purchased it from the original owner at 40k miles.
I just went to the interstate battery headquarters in my city and they tested it, then swapped it out. Even though my battery was testing in spec...
Whoa whoa whoa... hold on then. Your interstate battery is under warrantee for 3 years. Go take back that other battery and get it replaced! I had a two year old interstate that tested fine but my car would be dead after opening the doors couple times during camping or in the garage etc. I had...
I just switched to the Trico Force as well. They are amazing. :bandit:
I don't have any rain x on the windshield but If I did I would remove it. That stuff always smears imop.
What oil are you guys currently using? I was getting a great deal on Liqui Moly 5w20 5 liter jugs via an online channel but its not longer available from anyone in NA.... that I can currently find. :hello:
Wanted to stay with LiquiMoly as I run it in my BMWs. :hmpf:
Umbertob is correct. After not pulling much more than 7 out with my first vac attempt (on cold oil :stupid:) I filled up 7 and then checked every quarter. My display read overfilled so I pulled a quarter back out of the filter housing.
Thanks for the update!
Ive been looking at trailers the past couple weeks... anything from small 20 foot Coleman's to 26-30 foot Jayco's to a 28 foot FR Surveyor. The Surveyor is amazing but right at the LR4 weight limit with gvwr.
Man those hybrids are cool... I'm back and forth on what to...
Such good advice. I just got back from three days camping and luckily I had cables and a friends with trucks to jump me. Going to do this in the future. :hello:
For those towing camping trailers and boats... what trailer brake module did you go with?
Im looking for a the best compact unit I can find... currently considering the Tekonsha Primus IQ Electronic Brake Control.
Amazon.com: Tekonsha 90160 Primus IQ Electronic Brake Control...
I just did a quick google search and it looks as if you can pick up rebuilt LR3 transmissions for around 4k. Id bet there is someone out there selling the correct LR4 one as well.
Ive sent these guys a message to see if they have a kit and to figure out the correct PN for the LR4 ZF. I am...
