Anyone see my other thread on the alternator going out.
The truck is in now in immobilized status. Any tips on how to get it out????
IIDtool won't reset it for some reason.
Currently, the original damaged alternator is disconnected and battery is recharged. Getting a "Steering Column Locked" message and the car will not fire with a fresh battery. Thoughts?
The brand new alternator is going in but, we are trying to determine if there is any other electrical damage...
Ya I should have trusted my gut. Had to wait 3 hours for a tow in sub freezing temps. So that was fun.
Getting her into neutral was a chore as well... ended up having to hook the battery up to another car with jumper cables and under a load trick the car into trying to start and quickly...
Well... I just wanted to confirm for you all that it was in fact the alternator. I'm currently broken down in a snow storm. :shot:
Warning light came up saying system wasn't charging, dash became a Christmas Tree shortly after and within 2 min she was dead.
IMOP... when in doubt just replace them and go with the orange solids from Atlantic. I upgraded them this past summer with 85k on the clock and never looked back.
Hello gents!
Looking for some input here. Its been a bitter cold winter in the PNW. In the last week I have acquired a whining noise on my 2011 V8. I am thinking its probably the alternator bearings. Interested to hear your feedback.
I did too but eventually I believe the computer went through some adaptation value reset or something to that matter and it all cleared up. Give it some time and report back.
Your intake system is stock and clean correct?
Gentlemen. I just returned from a hunting trip and I am now rethinking how I "use" my iPhone 7 in the LR4. While out (LR4 and camper for base camp) we took a buddies F150 into the backcountry mostly and we used maps etc on our phones all the time. He used a mount for his iPhone 7 - this Kenu...
Bummer to hear. My 2 cents.
Convert it back to stock and either sell it or trade it if you can save on the tax etc. I bet you can sell your other off road stuff here on the forum including the hitch receiver. Ill start by helping you out and buying the wheels and tires.
I agree. I think its the LR4 suspension design. Trailers seem to push our rigs around a bit imop. I am going to talk to a friend for a test... by borrowing his GL550 and pulling my trailer to feel the difference with my Anderson for a reference comparison. Although Ive never tried another system...
Camp looks great!
Interesting on the Andersen. I felt like it helped enough with my little trailer and have talked to a number of guys with bigger trailers that I sprung for it. Love to hear your feedback when you go back to your Hensley. I do however think that the LR4 is somewhat of a...
Dan...
That is the perfect size trailer for the LR4 imop. Im going to upgrade to a bigger trailer about that size when I do. I have the Anderson too... love it. :hello:
Since your at 11k Id just take it to the dealer and get your concern on record. Yours could have been low from day 1. Depending on how the system was primed it could have been very close to the low side.
I had my 2011 with about 60k miles come up low on coolant one day after a long summer of...
Will do. Took it for the second drive today and I gotta say. It feels great.
I have not had any issues with the sway bar bushings but they could have possibly been replaced during warrantee with the first owner. That is crazy you have 112k on your LCAs!
From what I can tell the sway bar...
I just rolled over 83k and my OEM bushings on the LCAs were failing. First I experienced the seeping oil out of the bushings... then came wheel wobble and clunking etc etc.
After a bit of research I decided to go with the Poly Bushings on both the front and rear of the LCA's. Also opted to...
