wow, that is scary. I use the Meyle HD [rubber busings] LCAs. Never had issues. Which brand were these wtih the poly bushings? -

2012 Lr4 service required message “Reset”
Use your GAP tool and under instrument pack, you can reset it. After 15k miles, it will appear each time car is started and then stay there either until you hit ok to dismiss or for a short while then go away. Wish there was a way to reprogram to like 5k miles which should the maximum oil change... -

The V8 crossover front pipe is still the two piece "welded" design. I think they re-engineered the v6 front crossover to a one piece tube -

Wow, is the D5 reawlly that bad. Not getting rid of the LR4; my son is driving it away at his University. I would really like to get the newer one with the inline 6/mild hybrid but really none around except a brand new one at local dealer...[not interested in the massive depreciation on this.]...- ugmw177

Hi all, My Wife is interested in a Discovery 5 [full size, not sport] here in the US. We have an LR4 petrol v8 [great car but takes a lot of maintenance]. Tried to get my suspension fixed
Wow, it baffles me how an alighment shop would return the car to the customer with the wheel off. It is not rocket science. they should set the wheel straight, use a clamp to hold it there then set the toe in with the tie rods. The camber adjustments is what some shops do not understand on the... -

Has anyonne else had the folowing happen and what was the solution: my son called me yesterday and stated the LR4 would not start. he had the smart key in his pocket and car unlocked itself normally when he approached. he sat down, put foot on brake and pressed start button. Nothing. no dash... -

ok, Son called me from 3 hours away. Cheeck engine light on. parts store read code as P0296 "bank 1 post catalytic converter fuel trim too lean". No driving issues. Anyone else had this code come up and what solutions were found? -

Yep, the LR4 should have been continued with some updates. There really is nothing else out there quite like it. If they had redesigned the chain tensioners to last 200k miles and used aluminum to replace the crappy plastic cooling parts the mechanicals could have soldiered on. Update the... -

Recommended Indy shop in San Diego
Yes, EPB module must come out from the Right rear side on LR4. Space is super tight and add a little rust and corrosion and you see why shops get 2500 or so. I would expect you can open yours up and replace the nylon gear set and be good to reinstall if cables are not too rusty. Mine was eating... -

yep, the poly bushings will trasmit more road imperfections and vibrations to the steering wheel; will feel more stiff than the stock oil filled rubber bushings but will last longer and are easier to replace without replacing the complete arms -

If you were able to do it without moving the axle out of the way, more power to ya. I spent an hour on the first one with evey thing disconnected it it ABSOLUTELY was not possible to remove without backing out the axle from the hub. -

nah, if you are replacing the complete arm, new ones come with a new ball joint. If you are just replacing bushings, i would also press in new ball joint with new gator as it is too much labor to do it again for a worn ball joint. -

not sure why but the fasteners (three of them) holding the compressor bracket to the frame seem to rust/corrode more than some of the other stuff. Perhaps the plastic/foam shell holds water and or road salt and cannot be rinsed off as easily by hose or rain as the open areas. Anyhow last one I... -

Roof rail installation trouble
Wow, i must have been really lucky here. I just did this on my sons 2011 LR4. I used a dremel and cut a slot on each of the plastic tree plugs' heads. then using a screwdriver and a trim remover unscrewed them a bit and lifted them with the trim tool. LR4 Binding Brakes
+1 on the LCAs or bushings My right front LCA is just starting to knock a bit and the brakes are now feeling a little like a warped rotor. I think when you step on the brake at low speed with worn LCAs, it causes a bit of a shimmy
