Fuel Outlet Flange Recall and Other Services

also, i dont think the dealaers really want to mess with lr4s, lr3s etc. most of techs probably arent that familiiar with LR products that are now at least 10 years old. Seems to me that local dealer has a lot of RRs and what not. I see a few D5s being serviced but rarely D4s or earlier.

Fuel Outlet Flange Recall and Other Services

Good luck with them. I am sure the recall has to be performed by JLR dealer but you might want to consider getting a quote from an indie like performance rovers or brake and alignment ctr [both in CLT] just for comparison if nothing else.

i see you are in CLT, is that dealer on independence by chance?

Bouncy Ride Normal? +engine cover part no. request

+1 on the cross climates. the 2011 in the family rides great. It is sure footed and tight but also comfy. I will say new HD lower control arms and alignment made it drive like a new lr4

Water Pump & Outlet Pipes Replacement

yeah it is mostly labor. WP is probably about $300, coolant crossover [fronts] around $100. coolant, $30. on the v6 i understand the supercharge must come off. none of this is rocket science but it tedious and time consuming. I did our v8 in the driveway recently; took about 6 hours. also did...

    P0101 code

Hi, Ok son called me. He has isolated p0101 code on his 2011 lr4 v8. no drivability issues. Told him to get some MAF cleaner and clean both sensors and make sure pigtails are securely fastened. Any other suggestions from others that have seen this code?

    code P2096

anyone have suggestions on their experience with this code? I am leaning towards an exhaust leak but it is so &$(@#^^ hot i dont fancy hanging out under the vehicle right now and it is being driven every day so it is super hot underneath in the evenings

    code P2096

interestingly, last year i did not find any obvious issues. It has been a year and about 15,000 miles since this time last year and CEL just popped on today. code P2096.

    OEM Waterpump vs British Atlanta/ProFlow

outsourcing mfg of stuff like this to certain nations is going to yield such results; however, i would expect LR to cull the poor examples prior to selling through dealers. It appears that is not the case anymore.

    Testing air suspension for leaks?

Torquing the bolts once settled makes sure the bushing(s) do not have a twist on them for normal riding position as they will not last very long in that bound position. When i ususally do this, i have a jack stand under the frame and then use a hydraulic jack under the control arm and jack up...

5 codes no crank no start 2011 LR4

the concerning codes are p0018,19,17...indicating possible timing chain issue. do a preliminary chain test through oil fill cap to see if visibly loose then use a large socket and breaker bar to attempt to turn engine manually. If it will not move, probably chain isssue. If it turns fairly...

LR4 oil cooler level of effort involved estimate? For 2013 V8

what year/engine do you have. the NA v8 requires removal of the intake manifold and associated bits to access the oil cooler. The SC v6 requires removal of the supercharger [a more time consuming affair].

    Non-OEM/OEM TPMS (433mhz) for 2016 LR4 HSE recommendations?

just changed out a sensor on my sons 2011. it was randomly showing error message from left rear on dash and tpms light. I tried to trigger each sensor with autel tool and sure enough the left rear failed. swapped out with a new VDO from rockauto. worked great without additional drama. i plan to...

    Control arm fail

Yes, rear uppers are certainly doable in your home garage; easier than front lowers, in fact. Still need 4 wheel alignment afterwards. Also whatever alignment shop you use make sure they [or you] set vehicle in tigh tolerance mode just prior to alignment and back to "customer mode" just afterwards.

Anyone end up buying their Grenadier order

imho, the D5 design has grown on me. I drove a 22 with the petrol ingenium 6/MHEV. It was fantastic. road manners were good, it was quiet as a church mouse; did not take it off road but i see others report it is pretty capable. Interestingly around here it seems to not be the fafshionable LR...

    shopping for D5

Wife test drove a 2022 R dynamic S p360 this weekend. [35k miles]. This was/is a beautiful silver/black car with most bells anad whistles. It drove very nice and was comfortable. The inline 6 +MHEV drivetrain was silent, smooth, and powerful. She decided the seat was a bit uncomfotable and it...

My 2012 LR4 is not starting anymore, help please

i would suspect ground straps first. check the battery ground to the engine near the front. clean and then try again. Also let us know what the resting voltage of your battery is

Anyone end up buying their Grenadier order

Saw one of these on the way to the office here the other morning. It iss the only one i have ever seen in person; probably the only one yet here in our city area of apx 2MM people. Kind of cool but tooling around in rush hour traffic on a city road seemed kind of useless

    5.0 metal rear coolant manifold

looks sketchy; if it were welded together that might be a better option. since the rear heat manifold rarely catastrophically fails just begins to leak, i would use oe plastic one. Now if they will make a front crossover out of aluminum for the 5.0 NA, that would be excellent.

    Long Roof Rails

leave the aluminum ditch rail covers in place and mount on top o them. that rear piece, use a dremel and cut off the part that extends down into the channel so that is is instead flush with the channel aluminum cover

    Back Crossover/Heater Manifold Repair

depends on whether it is the SC v6 or the n/a v8. in either case though, if you are going to the labor to get access to that, you might as well change out the heat manifold as it will be brittle and eventually leak

    2015 LR4 SCV6 Gas Mileage

You know, the big question i have is why did JLR bother to go to the v6 when it really isnt much if any better on fuel than the N/A v8. The V8 has excellent torque and power without the supercharger. The crazy JLR blanked cylinders to create the v6 is nutty; I guess they could market it as a v6...

    Aluminum thermostat housing

i recently re-did my sons LR4 5.0 cooling parts which while i was i there i replaced the thermostat and housing. the car is a 2011 with 108k miles on it. the old housing seemed perfectly fine and was not brittle like the crossover tubes. Of course I did use oe JLR parts for this. like you i...
