Winter prep anyone?
For my LR4 - LR3 wheels, spacers, Rhino hitch and some trimming of front wheel inside trim. Not much. Do get some rubbing on frame extensions at full steering lock but minor. Rhino hitch allows spare tire to fit, no deflation. -

Good comparison crash. Note that this is a 4 low / 2-speed xfer case comparison. HD / locking rear diff would eliminate wheel spin AND improve overall vehicle control on trails. That said many don't need HD locker. For me it was required. Now, a single speed xfer case? Suspect it would struggle... -

Hmmmm ....... not my experience or from multiple observations of others (Colorado). Both HP and Torque curves are earlier and higher for the V8. The advantage of the SCV6 is a slight increase in fuel efficiency and reduction in CO2 emissions. Maybe your experience is driven by the 8-speed... -

Agreed Dan. Thinking 90%+ of our rear access is upper tailgate only. Load is arranged according to what we need. Dealing with a single large tailgate is a pain, motorized or not.- mpinco

TSA is not new. Requiring a JLR towbar is. What capability does a towbar bring to the table? Feels more like a legal protection requirement than new technology. Have to say there is a lot of technology added to this Discovery. Not sure that is good. Then again JLR isn't the only manufacturer...- mpinco

Showoff Your LR4
When we first acquired our LR4 I looked at those 20"ers and cringed. I consider myself a reasonable off-roader so a few weeks later they were gone. LR3 18" wheels, spacers and 285/60-18 General Grabber AT's were the replacement. Very happy with choice. Highway performance is good. Took the LR4... -

I suspect in the end the comparison point will be LR4 to Discovery HSE Lux. Price point effectively rises to $70-80K. Several article I read indicated LR was slotting the new Disco just below the RR. The coilers allow some room in the original LR4 price range.- mpinco

Cracked windscreen
My local LR dealer had a select shop replace my windshield with Pilkington glass at the dealer while I was having some other work done. Covered by insurance company as 'local' glass company. Dealer knows who does good work.
