second that. At 100k, do the fluids. Mightyvac is superb tool for all these. I open mine up and clean it out to accommodate trans fluid, then once more for the diff fluids.
the market for old land rovers has always seemed strong to me. I’ve had 13 now and have never lost money on one...I always buy used and am mechanically inclined, so trucks with over 100k that are well cared for and lived life in the south don’t scare me at all. My last ‘95 Range Rover classic, I...
If you have a fault, I’d have that checked and diagnosed. If reservoir is not filling fast enough, you could have a leak. That leak or other fault in the system could exaggerate your drop. If you have a leak, it won’t be long until you burn your compressor out.
A bit confused by the “higher technology” piece... not sure that’s accurate. I would argue that the LR3 is more reliable with the 4.4. For the Lr4, a failed crossover pipe will grenade the 5.0 and there’s that pesky timing chain issue, but LR4 has higher tech and a more refined/updated interior...
michael, good update. I would say to you that probably thousands of lr owners have done the BG44 and if I’m not mistaken that’s what LR runs through it at service intervals if they suggest an injector clean.
I would also argue, if you run the BG44 through and by some really strange chance...
that’s your transmission pan... my ‘10 does not have anything covering the pan. I would not guess you’d want airflow restriction there in order to help with heat dispersion. The catalytic converters are right there too...it’d get quite hot in there if a heat shield were there.
I do have the...
seafoam is good stuff too. BG44 will only help. Hopefully clear sailing for you from here on out. Keep running BG44 through it annually (or semi annually) if you do a lot of miles.
Injector cleaner is a part of LR service and at least should be done annually to keep it running smoothly. BG44 is definitely worthwhile.
I’ve done the injector replacement myself. Not a bad job. Took about 4-5 hours.

yeah, good move. They look fantastic and I was super excited when I got them. Now I’ve got 3 newer ones on and just waiting for the last to fail... I will say, they do ride well. At slow speeds, as you’d expect, they are quite noisy, but highway speed is actually not bad. The terrain contacts...
I did the atturos and liked the aggressive look and have done some pretty hefty rock trails. They performed well and no issues with sidewall. I made the mistake of pulling the trigger on some that were just over $400 on eBay, brand new. Priority tire sold them and they are from 2015...I didn’t...
I’d say if you think it’s injectors, try some good injector cleaner like BG44. Best purchase I ever made was a gap iid tool. Has helped me identify and fix some seemingly big issues inexpensively. If you have to do the injectors, it’s not too bad of a job if you do it yourself. The injectors...
here are photos. It’s just a wire that comes down from the hood and connects to the box (which I affixed using double sided tape to the passenger side air intake cover). There is a positive and negative charging wire that connect to the battery terminals. The indicator lights on the box light up...
this panel seems very well made and durable. I’m guessing also there’s very little heat transfer on the back side. It’s a pretty thick rubber type mat with what looks to be some sort of carbon fiber type cover over the actual solar cells. I would not be concerned about running this through the...
Ye
Yes, that’s exactly it. There’s one set of wires that runs to the charging block which regulates how much it charges. There are then two wires (positive and negative) that connect to the terminals.
I did the vinyl that was provided. It’s not thin. The panel itself is about a 1/2 inch or more in thickness. It’s also heavy. My gas struts are having a hard time holding the extra weight of the panel which was not anticipated. It was not hard to do and the instructions are very good.
I...
Yeah, the actual solar panel is less than $500 but the entire kit with wiring was not cheap. I had considered mounting an actual panel to the hood (there’s a local LR shop that does LR3 and LR4 overlanding mods) and it looks really slick.
I liked the thought of having something more...
