    Another Defender hint?

They supposedly stripped the attendees of any electronics prior to the event. Suspect, I know, but here’s to hoping.

Time will tell. Fingers crossed. If it’s close to the original, they’ll get my $

    Another Defender hint?

So, some encouraging news. I just spoke with a buddy who works for JLR tonight and he said their sales manager has seen the new Defender. He stated it looks almost identical to previous Defenders and what we are seeing is a very well disguised Defender. He said the D90 will start at about $45k...

    Transmission valve body

Unfortunately it’s not the same shop... I’m going to try the gap tool again and see if it fixes. I’ve read to reset adaptations and then re-flash (in the gap manual) which I did not do the first time. Anyone else who’s done it or has insights?

    Transmission valve body

So, took it in for formal diagnosis. After all that, he swears up and down it needs a software update. He is who my lr Indy uses for trans work. According to my gap tool, trans software is current. I did a reflash already. Would my independent Lr shop have a different software patch? I’m...

LR3-engine just shut down while driving

Hopeful that’s it. Key for me was the pivots. Report back. Collective wisdom here will hopefully bring about resolution. For me, engine shutdown sounds similar. No traction control, no special programs, no abs. Did some really peculiar things. I found heavy throttle would keep engine running...

Sell it to me before you put that thing out to pasture. I’ll get her back on the road :burnout::driver:

LR3-engine just shut down while driving

Understood. For me it took a second cleaning. I neglected to clean really well around the pivots of the TB. Had to get a toothbrush. Not saying that’s it, but it sure sounds like it. Someone else had to really encourage me that it was the tb and to retry. Skeptical, I did so. Have not had it pop...

LR3-engine just shut down while driving

Had a similar issue. For me it was a dirty throttle body. Easy fix. Use tb cleaner and toothbrush (especially where tb pivots). Doesn’t take much dirt/carbon buildup to cause an issue.

    Another Defender hint?

That’s terrible! I was hopeful something of value was under the panels. That’s no defender! Surpsingly, it draws from the LR3/LR4 more than I thought it would- but not in the best of ways... Although, I must say, this looks like a mock-up, so to me, still a flicker of hope- but not holding my...

    Transmission valve body

Thanks Mike! Great info. Assumed it was worn torque converter clutch or bad Valve Body. Hoping for the latter (as I can fix that). I think I’ve decided to bite the bullet and get the 30k mile tranny installed. I’m going to try some Lucas trans fix as a temporary fix. Recognize I may grenade...

    Transmission valve body

Mike, Very helpful!!! No leaks at all and all wires look good. Did not think about a seal/gasket in the trans itself. Solenoids are new and no change when swap was made. I think you’re onto something. This would make sense (in my non-professional opinion) as under heavy acceleration there’s...

    Transmission valve body

Thanks mike for the response! I bought the truck with the issue and was hopeful a good service might fix it. Sorry, I was a bit unclear about gears this is happening in. It happens in 3rd (heavier shudder here) under load. 4th and 5 happens too uphill under load Dr trannys has made it...

    Transmission valve body

Has anyone had issue with their transmission valve body? My independent shop swears that the torque converters rarely fail on these trucks and that it’s usually the valve body. Transmission shop has a different position and says torque converter failure is the likely culprit. Symptoms of...

    Crossover Pipe - Replace Pre-Emptively?

Not irrational. Just know it could go (if not done recently). If you ever start to lose coolant or overheat, don’t try to make it to the exit, stop immediately. Its an easy repair and I’ll do it as preventative maintenance (from now on) every two years.

So to confirm Atlantic British, the green bushes you sell are between blue and orange and have a softer feel than orange- Correct?
