    I think that’s right. I do know that you can use iland on multiple of the same models (not vin locked), whereas the gap tool is locked to specific vin.

    I’ve also heard it sounds like cards slapping the spokes of a bike like we did when we were kids or a Diesel engine. My understanding is that even the ones post 2012 production with timing guide updates are not immune. My 2010 is still quiet with 5000 mile oil change intervals

    Yep, I figured that out. This project is next on the list. Thanks for the input. Leak seems to have slowed after torquing the valve cover bolts. I found the main source of oil leakage (albeit still minimal- it is a Land Rover after all) is the vacuum pump on the bottom front of the engine.

    If you hit 75k preemptive replacement suggested on front crossover, rear crossover, and water pump. I believe your engine is just the 8 cylinder with two cylinder deletes. Back pipe design is slightly different (longer connections)

    I call BS also. Should start and throw codes with a bad valve body. Not buying it. If it’s any help, I did just do a trans swap on mine, if that’s determined to be the issue. I can walk you through it on how to do it on a budget. Original quote to me was $5k and I did it for about $1700

    She’s back! Shifts are crisp, no shudder! Case closed. My guy said he’ll never do another one...but he got it buttoned up just like it was. He did a new bridge seal and sleeves and put my metal pan on the new transmission. He went in from underneath. I’m very happy and only $1600...

    It’s now going to be next week. He said with the LR4, its like Land Rover started with the transmission and built the truck around it...he’s got the old one out at least. Seems to again support the body off method. It’s like waiting for Christmas morning.
