    5.0 Reman Engine Supplier

I saw this ad on the Seattle Craigslist and it had me curious, anyone have any experience with these guys? Seems too specific to be a scam... https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/fod/d/seattle-land-rover-engine/7180110469.html I'm thankfully not in the market for an engine but If I was I would...

    Crossover Pipe Bursted on V8

A cursory google search has indicated water pump lifespans to be anywhere from 60k to 100k. 75k or failure seems to be a reasonable timespan for prevention on our trucks. I just replaced mine that had 80k on it and wasn’t leaking. My front crossover started leaking at 90k. I don’t think my...

Your thoughts on the Ineos Grenadier?

Agreed anyone that can afford one of these can probably afford to buy a real defender and do an r2.8 or LS swap. I think imported defenders aren’t that unreasonably priced? Maybe around 30k? I think this thing will always be seen as an “off brand defender”. Only way it could attract people...

    Crossover Pipe Bursted on V8

I think they’re just shitty, I had a brand new one fail a couple years ago the first week it was installed.

Those are significant changes for MY21, especially the coil suspension and fabric roof options for the 110.

    Thoughts on potential purchases

I would get the lower mileage one with the year of warranty. I don't think it would be that hard to get that cost difference made back in the first year under warranty or at least partially. There is also the piece of mind knowing its under warranty + it has the lower mileage. These are great...

    LR4 vs Defender

Is yours a TDV6? Us yanks are stuck with the 5.0 V8 which has been great for people like myself but a lot of others have had pretty poor experiences...

Thoughts on 2021 Bronco as LR4 replacement?

I think the Defender is going to be suprisingly scratch-proof if you opt for the protective film: https://www.just-auto.com/analysis/its-a-wrap-the-remarkable-new-coating-tech-on-land-rovers-new-defender_id191169.aspx The more I read about them the more I want one...:D

    Air Suspension intake filter replacement

That's right, I was thinking of the drier Filter. I would be surprised if the culprit wasn't a complete compressor failure if a code is being thrown. If it's just sagging its probably the valve blocks.

    Air Suspension intake filter replacement

There's a few write-ups and videos out there on how to remove the air compressor. The filter is located on the compressor and *should* be replaceable, depending on the type of compressor you have. I know you can on the hitachi's, not sure about the AMK's. Have you traced it back to the...

    Another Defender hint?

FWIW I think the new defender looks great, also from what I can tell from reading articles online and the Alloy and Grit interview it is very well engineered. Between tow ratings, roof carrying capacity, the functional interior materials it looks like a great vehicle for our lifestyle. It's...

Let's try to get the facts down on tensioner issues

That's really interesting, a quick google search revealed a few correlating articles such as this study: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0301679X15000432 If that is the case then you would think that an oil flush product like this...

Thoughts on 2021 Bronco as LR4 replacement?

It will be interesting to see how the usable storage pans out in the Bronco, one of the websites I follow is reporting that the rear passenger seats when folded have a 4" step from the cargo space and they don't entirely fold flat...HOWEVER apparently the slide out tray option on the broncos...

    It's here, now what?

Bronco does look good but having a tow rating less than half of the defender makes me wonder which one is really wimpy underneath all that sheetmetal. :dontknow:

Change of battery - does the ECU definately need to be reset?

I changed my battery 2 years ago and never reset the ECU, I didn't own a gap tool at the time. I figured I would do it on the next one but I've been trying to periodically top off my battery with a battery tender so hopefully that isn't for awhile!

Let's try to get the facts down on tensioner issues

That just seems so odd to me, some of the folks having their chains replaced are at a relatively low miles whereas some people never have to have them replaced. You'd think that a high mileage engine would clog regardless of oil change frequency eventually and fail the chains but some folks...

    D5 Diesel -- Warmup ? Reliability?

I have been watching the price fall on these trucks and thinking about them as an LR4 Replacement. I really like the reported mpg’s but haven’t been able to find much info on how reliable the engine is. Are these able to go 200k miles with basic maintenance? I love the 5.0 in my LR4 but it...
