    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

Classic/standard Defender 16" wheels. At least to my knowledge.

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

I'm still shocked not to have run into someone that has fit these on an LR4.

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

Getting pretty close to pulling the trigger on the TuffAnts. I like the styling of the Terrafirma wheels better, but don't really want to run spacers (why I don't want to, I can't say, as I have exactly zero experience with spacers).

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

My understanding is that you can run TuffAnt, Terrafirma or Compo 18s and 265/60/r18s with full functionality. Does anyone know this to be untrue?

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

They fit, but they'll change the stance of the vehicle due to the large offset. Still waiting to hear whether the ET44 wheels change the stance.

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

I'd rather not run spacers, but I'm not crazy about the TuffAnts as the most utilitarian/Defender style wheels (which also don't come with ugly branding) don't seem like they fit the LR4. I got excited for a minute and thought I had some good new options, but it sounds like maybe not as good as...

New TPMSs for new R18 tires LR4

Considering the TuffAnts as well, here, thanks to the lack of need for spacers -- but does anyone have any experience to tell them whether the LR4 TPMS sensors work w/ the TuffAnt 18s?

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

I will say one thing, ryanjl -- you revealing the existence of the TuffAnts and Terrafirmas to me has essentially completely ruled the Wrangler Duratracs out of my tire decision process, given that it would only cost me around $300 more to go 18" TuffAnts + BFG KO2s than it would to put 19"...

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

Hmm, not a bad idea. The Terrafirma look more like actual Defender wheels ... but they only fit w/ spacers, yes? I'm not really familiar with spacers, and don't know what the downsides are (if any). The TuffAnts say they fit the LR4 out-of-the-box, which makes me wonder why I've been even...

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

Yep, my thinking exactly. I'd love to go to 18" at some point, and the Compmotives don't really do much for me. I mean they're fine, but a couple of pairs of the something as close to ones below as possible would be outstanding (I also have black, which, while I'm not crazy about ... would...

    Is this possible?

    Wrangler Duratrac fit for LR4

But this wouldn't just be a meaningless model #/name change. 111Q vs. 111S are two entirely different speed ratings. In this case, it would mean the "Walmart version" would be rated as road safe at 112 mph vs. a limit of 99 mph for the "other" version. Not that I plan on going either of those...

$1k for Duratracks NOW vs $3k for ko2s on steel LATER

I'm still a bit mystified by the inability to air down. This spring, I spent a week on Martha's Vineyard and was on the sand every day. The sand is mostly deep, coarse-grained and dry. This requires being down around 13lbs, or at least 15-18. Spent 10 days at 13 psi, on the sand and on the...

$1k for Duratracks NOW vs $3k for ko2s on steel LATER

I don’t know how much time you all spend driving in deep sand, but in my experience, going >15psi = getting stuck. I know several beach areas that won’t even let you on with more than 15 lbs in your tires because they know it means, before long, they’ll be sending someone to winch you out...

$1k for Duratracks NOW vs $3k for ko2s on steel LATER

Would those of you with experience with the Duratracs (or the Conti TerrainContacts) feel comfortable airing down to 13 or 15 lbs on sand? While I don't need to air down around rocks very often, I do fairly regularly want to air down on sand. I also can't make sense of the wildly varying noise...

    Wrangler Duratrac fit for LR4

Goodyear is getting pretty close to permanently losing me as a customer, as there seems to be no customer support line whatsoever where you can reach a representative that has any knowledge at all (beyond being able to help you order some) about their tire models. I'm trying to verify that this...

    Wrangler Duratrac fit for LR4

... and I still don't understand why sidewall load/ply ratings do not even seem to be specced on 19" tires. All I can get is "XL", which doesn't seems specific to sidewall.

    Wrangler Duratrac fit for LR4

WalMart currently has the Wrangler Duratrac's for $299, but in 255/55R19 111 S but does not list these as fitting the LR4. While DiscountTire has the Wrangler Duratrac for $315 in 255/55R19 111Q XL RBL Which they do list as a proper fit for the LR4. Does the 111S @ Walmart truly not fit...

    Another tire/wheel thread: 19" vs 18"

I thought the brakes only fit under the compmotive 18s. Is that not the case? And how does one go to 17s? Just a rotor change? I’d absolutely love to go to 17s. Just put brakes on about 10k ago, but I’m about to do tires in the next couple of months — so I’d love to get into 17s and a good AT...

    Another tire/wheel thread: 19" vs 18"

And these worries go away just by dropping to 18s? Personally, I'd be keen to see LR offering 16s.

    Another tire/wheel thread: 19" vs 18"

And you’d all echo the don’t air down advice (other than in sand) for even a tire like the Wrangler Duratrac? I just get more and more aggravated by LR’s decision to go to 19/20 on the LR4. It’s not like I even get my truck in those conditions more than a few times a year, but there’s no...

    Another tire/wheel thread: 19" vs 18"

Have any pictures, by chance? And you're sure there are different tread patterns? Yoko certainly doesn't make this clear, if so.

    Another tire/wheel thread: 19" vs 18"

I mean, that's an unbelievable drag. You really have to wonder what LR was thinking. I mean, I get that people want 19s and 20s (and worse), but there was not reason not to offer 18s and 17s. My understanding is those brakes need not be so large. Again, well worn territory. But the...

    Another tire/wheel thread: 19" vs 18"

Reviving this old thread. Just read some of the later replies and am a bit shocked at folks talking about issues airing down 19s. I've aired down the OEM Contis I still have on my truck numerous times without issue. Mind you, this is beach driving, but I've been running them at 13 pounds on...

    Another tire/wheel thread: 19" vs 18"

rjanjl, thanks for the thoughtful and detailed reply. It's very helpful. I think part of my hesitation in staying w/19s is that I spent a couple of weeks in Iceland this summer on some very rough terrain. Nothing heart-attack inducing in terms of descents or climbs, but the volcanic rock there...
