Airing down 19" tires
Well, that's really good to hear. Certainly helps resolve worries about breaking a bead when airing down 19s. Doesn't help w/ concerns about sidewall damage when airing down 19s, but something is better than nothing! -

Not good. I guess it's still Duratracs or 18 steelies + something like a KO2. I miss having 18s and only having to think about what tire to buy. :) -

Replacing LR4 wheel arches
I hate the painted arches, and miss the dark grey plastic arches from my LR3. If I didn't get stuck with a black truck (meaning the swap won't make that much of a visual difference), I'd have done this the week I bought the truck. But I've given it 18 months or so with the LR4 to get used to it... -

Interesting, I've heard from multiple sources that 265/65s on an ET44 wheel shouldn't rub. Now, that depends on the tire, I suppose, but there are multiple popular options that I'm told do not rub (except maybe slightly in full lock/reverse). Anyway, yeah, I hear you -- I think all of us in... -

Those are the black or the gray? They look pretty solid. Happy with them? I think I can live with slight rubbing, only in full lock and only when in reverse. :) Somehow I don't think I'll spend much time in that situation. -

New TPMSs for new R18 tires LR4
I assume that means the LR3 18s are TPMS ready. Most (all?) of the steelies and the Compos, to my knowledge, are not. The LR3 18s require spacers, yes? -

I'd plan to go with something like the KO2s, Dueler Revo 3s ... or something A/T along those lines. Every time I decide on a tire I then run into a ton of negative reviews. I almost think I need to stop reading reviews ... :) -

Ah, thanks. Would love to find out that w/ the ET44 offset on the TuffAnts and 265/65/r18s, rubbing won't be an issue. Don't feel like doing any cutting. -

I'd want to be down around 13 lbs or so, but either way I'm not expecting to "feel" much of a difference, I'm just wondering what folks' opinions are on whether going to 18" significantly mitigates the risks of damage many are concerned about when airing down 19" (and 20") tires. -

What size tire did you mount? For daily driving or just offroad use? I'm considering the jump to 18 and would prefer to be able to get into 265/65/18 over 265/60/18s, but don't want to deal with rubbing. TuffAnt, who I'm currently leaning towards for 18" wheels, suggests there might be some... -

And I suppose an important additional question would be: for those that have concerns about airing down 19" tires (with their weaker and shorter sidewalls) -- do all of those concerns go away with the move to 18" tires. Clearly there's a bit taller of a sidewall, and I can then get into an... -

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully a few others will weigh in. My truck spends anywhere from 15-25 days a year on the sand, so it's not insignificant. And even though I've aired down my existing tires to 13 lbs or so on sand without any ill effects, it does sound like it's not generally... -

Water on the floor board of my 14' LR4.
In my experience as a 10+ year owner of the LR3 and 4 - it’s almost definitely your sunroof drains. There’s plenty to search on. Most times you can clear them yourself witness a good air compressor. If not you ha e to drop the head curtain and get deeper into things. -

I'm navigating that now. If you go to 18s, you can go with the TuffAnt or Compmotive (no spacers needed) or the Terrafirma or LR3 18s (spacers needed)—and then you can run the brakes you have now. If there are other options out there, I'm not aware of them (but would love to be). -

I've not found this style in 17". Even if you did, you'd have to swap out your brakes to fit them. At least that's my understanding. Others can correct me if I'm wrong. -
