    TMPS Recommendation ?

It's all in here ... https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/new-tpmss-for-new-r18-tires-lr4.40471/ ... including replies from me along these same lines, trying to understand the reports from other folks earlier in that thread reporting an inability to mount their OEM sensors on Compos and...

    TMPS Recommendation ?

I'm not sure what I'm being so dense about. My understanding is that the OEM TPMS sensors cannot be mounted on non-OEM wheels without difficulty and without additional hardware (e.g. straps). Tire Rack, however, says the sensor they list for the LR4, linked above and again here ...

    TMPS Recommendation ?

I’m not inherently skeptical about your success, i am just trying to understand how they mount.

    TMPS Recommendation ?

I may have asked this in another thread, but do you know how these were mounted onto non-OEM wheels? My understanding was that mounting sensors on non-OEM wheels (Compos, steelies, etc) is problematic. Am I confused?

What tools should i buy to work on my LR4 at home?

I'm guessing there is no GAP IID tool alternative that doesn't cost $500+?

    Compomotive PD 1881 finish delamination

Well it's not mine (I wish mine was white!) but yeah, I hear what you're saying. With the black pack, I'd want black lugs. But with the steel/silver on that white one, the steel lugs set off nicely, imho.

    285/60s on an LR4?

Well, at $23/ea, I'm perfectly happy to go this route if these can be installed w/o bands/straps on the KO2s + TuffAnts. I mean, I'd spend $40 on straps anyway, and so spending a little bit more to keep the TPMS on the stock rims and not deal w/ straps sounds fine by me.

    Compomotive PD 1881 finish delamination

Personally, I like the contrast of the steel lug nuts.

    285/60s on an LR4?

Sounds reasonable to me. But the ability to install the TPMS is based on the wheel, not the tire, no? Tire Rack couldn't have known anything about the Compos, so how did the recommended TPMS install? Sorry, I'm a bit lost. Admittedly unexperienced w/ this.

    285/60s on an LR4?

Just ordered TuffAnts as well. Any thoughts on the TPMS re-installation? I was going to go with these: https://tinyurl.com/yx4cq79r But the Amazon reviews mention a few folks who had theirs come apart after a few thousand miles. Haven't found any alternatives that look compelling, though...

Question for LR4 owners that switched to 18" wheels

Yeah, even though I'm not typically a fan of the all-black look, I may just go that route.

    White, steel, Defender-style 18" wheels for LR4?

Very interesting. Staying tuned. You sure those wheels on the beetle are the same? They look different.

All Weather or Snow Tires ?

Yeah, the tires handle them. The bushings and control arms, I'm not so sure.

    Replacing LR4 wheel arches

Awesome. Hadn't considered checking UK. Will check it out. Thanks for the tips.

    Replacing LR4 wheel arches

I hadn't even heard of the commercial version until mentioned here in this thread. Not sure if those parts are even available. I told the dealer what I wanted to do and they said the only thing they could think of was the LR3 arches. Maybe they don't know about the commercial version arches...

    Stock LR4 and 275 55 20s - the results!!

I live in downtown Philadelphia, and I'm pretty sure my tires and suspension take more abuse in one week than most LR's in the nation take in a year. Even those owned by avid off-road weekenders. Every single day is non-stop abuse. Potholes, sinkholes, uneven pavement, cobblestone streets...

    Replacing LR4 wheel arches

Maybe someone who has both can confirm (though I don't know how many D3 and D4 owners are out there) ... or someone that has high parts intelligence. :) The way I remember it, the LR3 arches were a very dense, heavy duty plastic, while the 4's arches feel super flimsy. That said, I wouldn't be...

That site is insane. Thanks for introducing it. And it actually did turn up some. Unfortunately they want 90% of new price.

    Replacing LR4 wheel arches

Well, they're black, so I guess I could spray paint them dark grey -- but I'm not sure how that'd come out. One of the things I liked about the LR3 arches is that the plastic they were made of was pretty bulletproof, tough stuff, as opposed to the flimsy material the painted LR4 arches are...

    Replacing LR4 wheel arches

So I guess I'm the only one weird enough to do this? I've definitely seen LR4s with plastic arches. Typically white ones. Saw one in person two summers ago in Iceland. And have seen photos online of them ... so I know you folks are out there. ;)

    Airing down 19" tires

That's what I've read, mostly, from those that have responded in detail, but the poll suggests otherwise ... several folks that say they'd never air down at all, some only to 25 lbs (even on sand), etc. I will say I do feel more confident than I did before starting the thread in regards to...

Ah. Having trouble deciding between black and grey (black truck). :)

I like that attitude. That said, there's been a lot of conflicting opinions on this one. :)

Looking good. Those are the grey?

    Compomotive PD 1881 finish delamination

Sorry to revive an old thread, but had to ask: if it's a chemical application issue, maybe Compomotive should be using a powder coating facility that coats their wheels with a finish that can stand up to everyday/common wheel cleaners. It's not like this finish shouldn't inherently be built to...
