22" is too big in my opinion, and the ride quality really drops. The tires I chose have 14mm of tread depth and it's actually a smoother ride now than what I had on my 19"s. We'll see if that holds true in a few months. The wheels I chose are 20 x 9.5 with 45eta offset. This combination sticks...
I put 20" machined stormer wheels with gloss black and Falken ZIEX S/TZ04 in 265/50/20 size. I purchased the set of wheels from a dealer in California, they have a weight rating of 1050kg per wheel which is above the required 940kg per wheel. I actually had purchased two (2) sets of wheels from...
Keep in mind that each wheel must have a 940kg rating or above and the tires must be 111 or above. Many wheel companies don't pay attention and will sell wheels rated far below what's required.
I recently put 20" rims with 45eta offset on my LR3. The wheels stick out 1.06" further than the stock 19" wheels. The slightly wider stance looks much better and I was worried that the wheels would stick out too far. I think anything over 1.5" would be too much in my opinion.
You may notice a slightly harsher ride. Make sure the wheels are properly weight rated - above 940kg per wheel if you're in the USA. Also the tires must be rated 111 or higher. I recently put new 20" wheels and tires on my LR3, I settled on 265/50/20 111 tires which are about 1% larger than 19"...
Welcome to the forum and great looking D3. A 2006 with only 45k it's barely run in yet! Feel free to ask about future mods people are eager to help others get all they can out of their rovers.
Looks like you can remove the pop out piece and potentially just order that part:

FYI early build LR3's (2005 & 2006) could accept a 285/50/20 tire without rubbing. In 2007 LR added a redesigned bump stop on the chassis that created rubbing for the 285 tire size. LR4s in stock offset would have rubbing with 285's but any extension outwards should be ok (or the grinding down...
Depends on what each individual LR3 has had replaced. If an '05 has had a lot of warranty work and many components replaced that may be a better option than the 2007. Mainly the items that fail are bushings in the front lower control arms. Also the anti roll bar spacers wear out. Aside from...
Nice spot. I think they did indeed use the photo for inspiration. They must have driven up and taken the pic themselves or spent some serious time editing the original - notice the LR4 vs LR3 tailights.
Aren't all 2012 LR4's badged with the HSE on the tailgate - even base models? LR confused a lot of people when they came out with about 5 trim levels for the LR4 in 2010 - wasnt thought out all that well. In 2011 and 2012 I believe they reeled in the options down to only 3 trim options: HSE...
Then maybe they disabled it for 2011's. I recall reading on here that LR disabled a certain model year - but you could go in and have the dealer enable it. Silly if you ask me.
Removal will be similar to LR3. Remove grill, front lights, front arches, then bumper. Watch this video should give you tips:

Yes this is a DIY yourself install. You take off the standard tread plate and chisel away about 5 small raised plastic pieces. Then the stainless tread plate gets screwed down. The black rubber pieces cover the screws...
I thought LR disabled voice activation on 2010 and 2011 LR4's? It can be enabled by your dealer but I don't believe those years came with it switched on from factory build.
It's the rear windscreen washer nozzle. The front 2 are the headlight washers. They'll only work when the lights are on and you try to clean the windshield using the wiper stalk. They're set to clean the front lights every 5th windshield wash or so.
