Does anyone have a ballpark on how much a replacement engine job would cost on a 2016? I’m looking for best guess on cost of actual engine plus labor. Thanks.
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised what their value is right now. I searched for a 2016 Landmark after evaluating the D5. The prices for a low mileage D4 are very high. My dealer told me they have a waiting list of people that want low mileage D4’s
I’m not buying the TFL story about the loom cut rendering the vehicle useless. My guess is they didn’t want to tell TFL their error will result in additional delay OR they are worried about future problems. Or maybe they got a good offer on it and wanted to get TFL in the other one. Will be...
I test drove the new Defender yesterday out of curiosity. I enjoyed the drive and cane away thinking it was more of modern LR4 than a true Defender replacement - but twice the cost. During the drive with the salesperson he told me they have a waiting list of people that want good condition used...
My 16 year old D3 (assembled July 2004) is showing its age and the Mrs and I started evaluating “replacement” options 3 months ago. We test drove a D5, X7, Q7, Merc, etc. since we know the D3 well we didn’t test drive a D4. After much dialogue we decided the best all around package was the D4...
I’ve tried searching the forum but can’t find the answer. What type of cruise control does the LR4 have? The kind that decelerates when it detects a car in front? Or just old fashioned set the speed and it maintains? Thanks
One of the engine pulleys on my LR3 broke and the belt popped off. It happened during start and I immediately shut it down, so I’m hoping minimal damage.
Does anyone have a diagram of the different engine components? I’ve spent an hour searching google for a drawing that shows: water pump...
Unfortunately I don't have any additional pictures on my phone. I purchased the wheels from a seller in ebay called "aspecwheels". I searched for a month looking for wheels that had the correct weight rating, they were the only supplier I could find that sold them. I will try and find some more...
I suggest disconnecting the battery overnight, the Lr4 will not be able to self level. You'll then see if you have an air leak if 1 corner has dropped.
There is a member on the disco3uk site username Character he must be close to 600,000 miles by now. Believe he's on his 3rd transmission and 3rd engine.
To my knowledge the only difference between the LR3 and LR4 front suspensions are thicker anti roll bar bushings and uprated ball joints. Both can be retrofitted to LR3's.
I think it will be hard for you to find tires that have the appropriate weight rating outside of the typical tires that people have listed above. The LR3 requires 111 or higher, the LR4 in some markets had 109 fitted at factory.
