    Beware: OEM vs Garbage

I’ve had a great experience buying parts from https://www.landrovermerriamparts.com/ they ship same day or next day and always beat my dealer prices for the same exact part.

Emergency key (blade key) not unlocking LR4

I recently had to access my D3 using the blade key. I found that I had to turn the key so far in the mechanism that I felt like it was on the verge of breaking. Are you sure you’re turning it far enough?

(Probably Resolved) 2016 LR4 U0102 Lost Communication with Transfer Case Control Module

Do you have the HD package? If not this message may be permanent. I also have the same error message and it won’t clear. Quick google search turns up that 2016 D4’s that don’t have the HD package have the same software code as those that do, so the error fault always shows. If someone has...

Wondering if anyone has a complete list of Gap IID tool capabilities. Hoping there is a list out there that provides details on what you can and can’t enable using the IID tool.

They called back and upped the estimate with more work. I’ll go the independent route.

Another LR4 Saved from Coolant Death

My D4 is at the LR Dealer for the "low coolant" warning and they confirmed it's the front crossover pipe leaking. Thanks to all on this thread who have contributed. Estimate is $1,594 for reference. They are also telling me that I have a left side valve cover gasket leak and quoting $2,457...

    Control Arms or Warped Rotors?

My suggestion is to replace the entire arm that will come with new uprated ball joints. Also replace the sway bar bushings, they are cheap and reduce play.

    Lower Control Arm ball-joint

No. Advanced Factors ships worldwide. Still cheaper than oem with better quality. If you order the kit it comes with all necessary bolts and fittings. My dealer commented on the quality.

Another LR4 Saved from Coolant Death

I just spoke to my dealer to confirm parts and obtain a quote, updated information in CAPS below. These parts are for my 2016 D4 SCV6 so confirm for your own application. I was quoted 14 hours in labor for the job! Does this sound correct? LR090630 - Redesigned “water manifold” part of...

    Lower Control Arm ball-joint

I suggest the Advanced Factors Meyle HD lower front control arm with uprated ball joints attached. They come with a 4 year warranty and are less expensive than OEM. I have put them in my D3 and D4 with great success...

Another LR4 Saved from Coolant Death

I have a 2016 with 52,000 miles on the clock. 3 weeks ago I received the “coolant low” message in the instrument panel. I checked and the reservoir was empty. I topped it up and have been checking every other day, it doesn’t appear that it has lost any coolant since my refill. However, I’m now...

    Nameplate replacement pricing?

I suggest you take a look at Powerful UK. They sell the letters and they come with templates, you can also buy a adhesive removal wheel form them. They also have a great YouTube channel that offers tutorials. Currently they are focused on the new Defender and a RRS but they do have many D3 and...

2016 Steering wheel clunk from road imperfections

I replaced the front lower control arms, ball joints, and sway bar bushings when I purchased the vehicle. The clunk or transfer I’m getting doesn’t feel suspension related, I’d describe it almost like the steering shaft has play in it and when you hit a bump it’s transferred up to the steering...

2016 Steering wheel clunk from road imperfections

Hello, I purchased a 2016 LR4 in October and I’m getting a clunk from the steering wheel when driving over road imperfections. It’s almost as if it’s being transferred right into the steering wheel, albeit softer. I’ve owned an LR3 for 15 years and have never experienced this. I figured I’d post...

Control Arm bushing repair NYC area

Advanced Factors sells a HD front lower arm kit that comes with a 4 year warranty. It’s essentially the same arm that is in the Sport, which comes with an uprated bushing. I’ve owned my D3 for 16 years and replaced the front lower control arms 3x. The last time I used the Advanced Factors kit...

2016 cost for replacement engine SCV6

Thank you for all of the replies. I decided to pass on the project after further consideration. Whoever bought it must have done so to daily drive it - because they’ll be about 10K upside down.

Old Defender or keep upgrading LR4

My opinion is to upgrade the LR4. It’s a completely different comfort level.
