I believe LR released new part #'s for the LAND and ROVER letter sets. 05's and 06's letters began to peel and chip. If you replace you want the new part #'s. -

My LR letters were getting faded and chipping, I used regular dental floss sawing back and forth to remove them. You will end up with foam sticky material still on the hood. I used spirit to remove. -

If you measure from the edge of the hood to the bottom of the letter its almost 1" exactly. Then if you measure from the vertical grill indentation the L and the R are almost exactly .5". Hard to explain without photos. -

It is a dealer fix unless you have the proper tools. I suggest you buy the whole lower contol arms as they have new style ball joints attached. -
Frustrated Past Believe
I have found that a helpful and knowledgeable dealer will increase your LR enjoyment 1000%. If you are trying to correct issues that are known tsb's, common issues, and your dealer isn't aware of them - find a new dealer. -

You may have been charged that much if the locking nut fell into the frame housing. It is a nightmare to locate the nut in the frame if it has fallen down. -

Charge for Alignment aftger warranty work?
My dealer did not do an alignment after my ball joint replacement, said it was not necessary. It is necessary however after the control arm replacement. -

You might be able to get one from the manufacturer of the homelink mirror, but the Land Rover attachment to the glass is specific. -

The Ford ESP is totally separate from Land Rover and has nothing to do with the previous ownership. Just so happens that Ford ESP covers the same parts as the Land Rover extended (including air suspension). I'm sure Ford ESP is available for other cars as well. There should be numerous threads... -

Beantmt, if you can find an '06 LR3 that still has even a few months of Land Rover warranty left you can purchase Ford's ESP extended warranty for 1/3 of the cost. As long as the factory warranty hasn't expired, you can get the Ford ESP. I got a 3 year extended warranty through them that was 1/3... -

Driver Seat Lumbar
I also don't have enough support from my 05 HSE. I had a loaner 08 with the electronic lumbar support and it was like night and day - so much better! I'm wondering if its something that can be retro-fitted. Sorry to hijack the thread but it got me thinking. -
Hood Logo Letters
My '05 letters faded as well. They actually changed the color scheme slightly its now called "Brunell Silver". I am going to change them myself as I'm out of warranty. -
