Looking for a 19" off road tire.

wow. I've been driving for 40 years. Drove everything from tractor trailers to tiny cars and everything in between. Like many of you, I've driven so many miles, I couldn't even estimate, and I've never had a tire separate. And here you guys are talking about these tires like it's a normal thing...

2016 brush guards, rack and ladder - please identify

LOL. Parked in front of the Whole Foods. Total poser. That think hasn't seen a gravel driveway, much less a need for light guards or half a snorkel.

Anyone Recently Sold or Currently Selling?

it's not the looks that bothers me, it's the fact that the rear end looks like a baboons butt

    Good price or crack pipe?

lets hope we are still chitty chatting on this thread in 25 years about our LR4's and see who's right. my post was really to say that rigidity in the matter is the kiss of death. How you make this happen is the same way you boil a frog. Slowly turn up the heat. In ten years, 25% of all sales...

    Good price or crack pipe?

LOL. Why do people believe this bunk? Politicians. Geez. Anyone who thinks ICE is going away in any industrialized nation in the next 25 years is just clueless. Main reason; there is no country with an electrical grid to support it. Even if you could generate the power need (which can't done...

    Disabling 2014 ECO Switch

LOL> We've had the light on for 4 years. Dealer doesn't even ask us anymore if we want it looked at. We'll fix it when we sell it. But the light is the same as if you hit the button I think, so maybe disconnnect the light? In may experience, if your vehicle is like mine (also a 2015 lux) a new...

New Bronco will have manual option

Lots of people want the manual. It gives you crawler gear. Back when I was a kid, we called it granny gear. With 4:10s in a 4x4 in granny gear, you'd putt along at about a 1/100th of a mile an hour with your foot off the gas (not sure of actual speed but it was slow). I can remember picking...

New Bronco will have manual option

Looks like Ford is reversing course and adding a manual transmission to the Bronco with late 2021 availability. Wonder what the take rate will be on that since most likely won't see off road. That said, nice to see a manufacturer listening to their enthusiasts.

OIl Leak - top of engine

In my experience, never change the oil you are using. I have had this happen to me with my Porsche too. Same oil forever. Went to a new shop and they used a different brand/viscosity. Couple days later, leaking away. Had several friend with the same scenario. Coincidence? Maybe but I doubt it...

Probably the best quote describing JLR on any forum.

    LR4 windshield replacement

Thanks. Looks like we should go with a mainstream installer and get the Pilkington. We too have heated and rain sensors. If I did anything to muck up the rain sensor, I might be sleeping in the RV for a while. We've never used the heated windshield as it spends its nights in the garage. It's...

    LR4 windshield replacement

Same here on needing insight. I am loathe to replace the windshield but have a gnarly crack just left of the rear view mirror from the top down that is about 10 inches. I had it fixed very nicely when it was about 8" long. Shockingly it was barely noticeable. Then, my wife ran it through a car...

obvious for sure. Which is why it is entirely feasible to sell a sufficient amount in the US.

    Crossover Pipe Bursted on V8

My Porsche Cayenne S had the same type of issue. Rear coolant pipes failed as they were basically biodegradable. Mine started leaking at 7 or 8 years old and IIRC, 60,000 miles or so. The repair was $1700. I threaten a lawsuit and Porsche agreed to pay 2/3 of the repair cost if I paid 1/3. I...

indebted to the Chinese. good grief.

You know things are bad when you have to borrow money from the Chinese. https://www.autonews.com/automakers-suppliers/jaguar-land-rover-uk-bailout-talks-fall-through-report-says How long before Tata sells JLR and to whom? It would be an unmitigated disaster for the brand if they were to get...

Just hit 49,000 miles - extended warranty or roll dice?

I bought one for our 2015 at 38k miles and 4 years of age. It is a 4 year 75k plan. Which adds four years and about 37k miles. I paid $3995 for the plan. It covers most everything and has already covered suspension joints to the tune of about $1600 IIRC. We have until May of 2023 and our LR4 has...

    Another Defender hint?

I get the feeling you're mad about something else. As for me, I don't really care what your opinions are on the Defender, or anyone else's for that matter. This is a tread discussing the Defender. You don't like my opinion. You get mad and attack me. Oh well. On tilt much. Maybe we can meet in...

    Another Defender hint?

Honestly Troy and the rest. If you are so easily triggered by me voicing my opinion about the new Defender on this forum, I shudder to think how you'll react in the real world when you hear someone say, "I love your new Honda!" Toughen up. Quit complaining about my opinion of the new Defender...
