2013(and 2014-2016) models still need guides, just less often. #1 way to ensure you don't need them is to do frequent oil changes and not trust the ridiculous 15k interval.
On another note, anyone know if any shop has these in stock and ready to ship? LK8 is out of stock, my original source is out and I don't want to wait 2 mos for the Aussies to ship me one. Thanks!
I was gonna do this initially at 80k but when i took the arms out, they were rusted to shit so I just decided to replace the whole damn things. IMO, it's not worth pressing out the ball-joints themselves.
I am close to pulling the trigger on an ARB Summit front bumper for my 2013 LR4 and had a couple questions for people who already have one. I know it's listed for 14-16 LR4s but I know it works on 10-13 models as well, and I've seen it on a 13 in person. I will not be installing a winch on it...
I don't quite buy the 'bad clutch' argument because if a clutch is bad, it usually slips but at least the gear engages. In this case, 2nd gear isn't even engaging. I think the rebuilt valve body is a smart move and will most likely fix this issue. Sorry you had to go through it.

The play was reduced but it's still not gone. I will try to torque them again with the wheel on the ground, that's a great suggestion. If still wobbling, might be time for new bearings again. Dammit.

Yup, it needs to be level. There is a very specific refilling procedure that involves checking the temp, then counting drips, etc. It does sound like you did everything right and just messed up the actual filling. An indy should be able to drain and refill the fluid properly for you.
That might be the issue then - there wasn't enough fluid to build up pressure to force an actual gear change. Dumb question but was your car level when you did this?
sounds like the slide lever is not connected properly to the valve body(or somehow got disconnected) so the dash knows you're in a gear but the valve body itself does not. Unfortunately will have to drop the pan and fluid and make sure that part is connected properly. Sorry!
I remember these going in much much tighter than what came out. Should hold pressure really well. I think you're fine. And yes, that harness had to come out. You're almost there!

find a different shop. None of the shops I've used for tire repair care about it already being plugged, etc. If the leak is in the plug, they'll pull it out and put a new one in. That policy is asinine.
In that case, it can be done in one day. I would allot most of the day though, just to be safe. I'd say 4hrs on the mechatronic unit is reasonable.
Edit: I say this because there are a couple of instances(where you separate the halves of the unit, for instance) where there's a chance springs...

I looked at these a while ago. My one concern was the SL load rating(although 113 should be sufficient by itself) Should be OK but something to keep in mind. These trucks are heavy.
