    I would say it's one of the individual door push pin sensors, or the latch sensor in the tailgate. It might throw a code too, check that if you have an IID tool.

    when this happens, the car thinks one of the doors or the hatch aren't fully shut. If they are all shut, there is a sensor at fault somewhere or a short.

    It's interesting that the link above mentions a 5.0, meaning this should theoretically work with LR4s. I am assuming the trans also gets swapped to a GM 6l80e or equivalent. Thinking an N/A 6.0 in an LR4 would be a good match.

    I would concur that it's generally reliable. I replaced my front struts/bags with Arnotts but that's because the struts were worn despite the airbags being fine. At 110k, it has otherwise been rock solid.

    I have not done this on the LR4 but I have had good luck with removing just the rear-most muffler/mufflers on my previous V8 vehicles, while keeping the resonators, etc. As mentioned, that should run about $200 or so. Minimal drone too, since resonators/etc were not removed, just mufflers...

    do 2014+ even have a cable? I thought the 8hp trans was all electronic from the dial selector to the trans itself. In your case, I'd also check the brake switch(under the pedal) or maybe the rotary shifter itself. Sorry, not too familiar with the newer rotary dial shifters.

    Sounds like you made a better choice. The v8 is great and that auto stop/start feature is beyond annoying. Out of curiosity, did they elaborate on the sandcrab comment? Would like to know what that entails so as to watch out for it. Did the 15 have the HD pack?

    One thing to point out - if you clear your codes right before going in for an emissions test, you will fail. This is because OBD2 cars have a series of readiness monitors that have to be in 'ready' state and when you clear your codes, they get reset and it takes time for them to become 'ready'...

    I think as long as the CEL isn't on and all the readiness monitors are set, you should pass. I sincerely doubt(but could be wrong) that they actually care about what codes are being tripped. Certain codes trip the CEL, so at least in DC, that's all they care about.

    you can absolutely(and should) use any quality synthetic 5w20 or 0w20 oil in your LR4. Change every 5k. Done.
